The original story was going to be a total tragedy, where Jasper was the killer all along. Thus the title "Bonding With The Enemy" and Liam was supposed to become a father figure to Darren. However the more I tried to make Jasper a likable character for that 'twist' effect, the more I grew to love him until I decided to rewrite his character entirely.
Unfortunately, I had to make a trade off and made Liam a villain in exchange for turning Jasper into a redeemed character. As for the killer, early on, it was going to be Gerrit, but then I realized he was too easy to guess as a villain. Being the only nice person in a pack of narcissist's kind of gave it away, so I threw in the twist that he was 'perfect' because Jasper needed a replacement for when he left with Darren.

- Plot: Ren was living an unextraordinary life when one day he find finds a strange talking jewel in his pocket. Suddenly he's whisked away to another dimension full of castles and magic. In order to return home, he must get help from the king, who is the only one that knows how the jewel's power works. The problem? He's surrounded by dark wizards who have convinced him that Ren is a criminal. Now he must hide among the castle staff and somehow get close to the king before the wizards catch on and use the jewel for something much worse.
