3rd person POV

The team was flying on Appa through the mostly cloudy sky

Aang was pacing up and down Appa's back, a worried expression on his face

"Would you sit down? If we hit a bump you'll go flying off!", Sokka told him, "what's bugging you anyway?"

"It's what Avatar Roku said. I'm supposed to master all four elements before that comet arrives!", Aang said worried

"Well, let's see, you've pretty much mastered airbending and that only took you 112 years... I'm sure you can master three more elements by next summer", Sokka shrugged

"I haven't even started waterbending and we're still weeks away from the North Pole!", he shouted, "what am I gonna do!?"

"Hey, calm down, airhead", (Y/n) told Aang, "it's going to be alright"

"If you want, I can try and teach you some of the stuff I know", Katara suggested

"You'd do that?", Aang smiled at her

"Hm, I guess I could show you some moves too", (Y/n) said

"Didn't you say you're bad at explaining?", Katara asked

"Yes, I'm horrible. Plus I don't really know how I do it", (Y/n) explained, "but Aang is the Avatar. The Avatar mastered all four elements hundreds of times before him, so maybe just watching might help"

"Thank you both!!!", Aang smiled

"We'll have to find a good water source first though", (Y/n) thought out loud

"Maybe we can find a puddle for you to splash in", Sokka joked

"Guys! What about there", Katara pointed at a huge waterfall

"Let's go!"

When they went off Appa, all their faces we're amazed by the huge waterfall

"Nice puddle", Sokka said speechless

Appa got into the water, diving in

"Yeahhh! Don't start without me, boy!", Aang said while preparing to jump in

"Remember the reason we're here"

Aang stopped and looked back at (Y/n) and Katara

"Oh right, time to practice waterbending..."

"Great. So what am I supposed to do?", Sokka asked

"You could... clean the gunk out of Appa's toes?", Aang suggested

He picked up a leafy branch and held it out to Sokka, who glared at him

"So, while you guys are playing in the water, I'm supposed to be hard at work picking the mud out of a giant bison's feet?"

"Mud and bugs!", Aang smiled

"Okay", Sokka grabbed the stick

"Have fun Sokka", (Y/n) snickered

••••••••••••••••

"This is a pretty basic move, but it still took me months to perfect, so don't be frustrated if you don't get it right away", Katara told Aang, "just push and pull the water like this..."

She began to move gracefully back and forth, the water on the river edge moving back and forth with her

"The key is getting the wrist movement right", Katara explained

Aang got up and tried it, "Like this?"

"That's almost right, if you keep practicing, I'm sure eventually-"
