The best thing about traveling with the Avatar is getting to know so many different places

We were resting on a forest, when Aang suddenly spoke

"Where's Momo?", he asked

Momo's yowl echoed through the forest. We all followed the chittering and found him, trapped on an animal trap

With a sweep of his arms, Aang airbends himself up, climbing the tree, managing to get to Momo

"Hang on Momo!", Aang said, while slowly releasing Momo's cage

As Aang pulled it down, Sokka and I grabbed it, opening the door for Momo to exit

The other trapped animals moaned

"All right-you too", Aang sighed

He crouches, then springs up in a spiraling column of airbent wind that carries him up the tree

"This is gonna take forever", Sokka said

He then threw his boomerang in one fluid move, cutting the ropes and releasing the other animals

"That works..."

"Who would trap poor animals like this", Katara asked

"The First Nation", I answered, "these are Fire Nation traps, they're easy to recognize because of the metalwork."

"We'd better pack up camp, and get moving", Sokka suggested

Everyone went to Appa, preparing to fly

"Ah-ah...no flying this time", Sokka stopped us

"What?"

"Why wouldn't we fly?", Aang questioned him

"Think about it. Somehow Prince Zuko and the Fire Nation keep finding us. It's because they spot Appa, he's just too noticeable"

"What! Appa's not too noticeable!", Katara argued

"He's a gigantic fluffy monster with an arrow on his head-it's kinda hard to miss him!", Sokka said

"I mean, you're right, but we always escape them anyways, so why not fly?"

"I'm just saying it'll be easier like this", Sokka said, "I know you all want to fly, but my instincts tell me we should play it safe this time and walk"

"Who made you the boss?", Katara said

"I'm not the boss-I'm the leader"

"You're the leader? But your voice still cracks!"

"I'm the oldest-", he wanted to say

"Eh, no. I'm the oldest", I said

"Okay, yes, but I'm a warrior, so I'm the leader!", Sokka said

"If anyone's the leader, it's Aang. I mean, he is the Avatar", Katara said

"Are you kidding-he's just a goofy kid!"

We all looked at Aang, who was dangling from Appa's horn

"He's right", Aang said

"Guys, we don't need a leader, we should all decide together", I said, "but if someone is the leader here, then it's me"

"What!? Why do you think that, eh?", Sokka asked

"Because I have a lot more experience in fighting than you, Sokka", I said
