Shortly after, in Kasie's lab: Kasie creates two completely new identities for Nick and Ellie. "Ellie, your new name is Julia Knife. "Isn't that a bit excessive?", Nick asks skeptically. "Can you handle a knife?", Kasie asks. "You got something to throw at here?", replies Ellie. Kasie gets a target out of the cubicle Ellie takes a knife from her bag, takes aim, throws it, and hits the exact center of the target. Nick nods appreciatively. "Then we'll stay with Knife", Kasie decides. She continues: "Your father was an alcoholic and violent man. He beat your mother and you often, you were often in hospital and you had several broken bones. When you were 10, he beat your mother to death. When you were 14, he died because of his drinking problem. Since then you have lived on the street where you met Daniel Hall", Kasie points to Nick. "He's two years older than you and his parents were drug addicts. Your parents died when you were 16. Shortly after, you met on the street where you decided to quit school. Since then, you've been inseparable. You started dealing drugs to support yourselves. At 15 or rather 17, you were caught and sentenced to 5 years in prison." "Can we get prison tattoos, too?", Ellie wants to know. "Jimmy will paint them on you right after the autopsy", Kasie replies. "Will they go away?", Nick wants to know. "Sure. But not for a few weeks", Kasie replies, then she prints out the most important information for Ellie and Nick. "The papers will be available later. Learn it by heart", says Kasie. "You don't have to tell us that we have to learn it by heart. We know that ourselves", says Nick. Then Ellie and Nick go to the elevator. In the elevator, Ellie asks Nick: "What the hell was that?" "What do you mean?" "You didn't have to say that to Kasie. We're the first guys she went undercover with. She's probably nervous, wants to make sure we don't get blown." "It's okay. I'll apologize to her later", Nick says just before the elevator doors open. Ellie and Nick leave the elevator and go to autopsy. There Jimmy and Ducky are already waiting for them with paint. "Please take off your T-shirts. I'm going to give you scars and tattoos. Everything will be gone in a few weeks", Jimmy explains. Ellie and Nick take off their T-shirts and sit on an autopsy table. Jimmy starts with Ellie. He paints a scar on her upper right arm, one on her left knee, one over her right eye and one on the left side of her jaw. Ducky tells him how old the scars are and gives him tips. After Jimmy is done with Ellie's scars he starts to draw the tattoos on Nick's body. One is on her left hand, another one from his left upper arm up his neck. The last one Nick gets painted on his right breast. Then Jimmy turns to Ellie again and paints her tattoos on. One on the left forearm and one on the right shoulder. "Finished," Jimmy says proudly. Ellie and Nick put their t-shirts back on, say thank you and leave the autopsy.

Just as Ellie and Nick come back into the office, Vance gives the order that everyone has to go to the video conference room immediately. So Ellie, Nick, Gibbs, Jack and he go into the video conference room where he tells them something important: !Agent Bishop, Agent Torres, you brief us at least once a day. If you receive any important information in between, let us know as soon as possible." Ellie and Nick nod. Gibbs gives Ellie a key. "This is for your apartment while you're undercover", he says. "So you can reach us without attracting attention. It's got the other phone's number on it and a secure number set up just for you. One of us will always be reachable", says Jack, giving Ellie and Nick a disposable phone each. "The address of the apartment is on a piece of paper on the key. You can tear it off. You know where Brown is", adds Gibbs. "Find out as much as you can! We'd better take down the entire child trafficking ring!", orders Vance. Ellie and Nick nod, then leave the video conference room.

Ellie and Nick go into one of the buildings. Inside, it looks like a bar. "Damn it! How did those cops find our hideout and those kids?", Julia Knife, aka Ellie, gets upset. "Before we think about it, we should have a drink, babe", says Daniel Hall, aka Nick. Ellie and Nick go to the bar and Nick orders two beers. "Sorry dude, but there's nothing for girls here", says the barman, grinning. "Dude, we had a shitty day! I pay extra too, man!", Nick wants to negotiate. "And I know the most influential man in the shop and he hates women", replies the bartender. Then he calls out: "Kent, get over here! This guy here wants a beer for his sweetie!" Kent Brown gets up from his seat and walks over to the bar. "What were you two talking about when you came in?", Kent asks Ellie and Nick. "Are you a cop?", Ellie wants to know. Kent answers: "If I was a cop, this place would be closed by now. And now my question..." Nick replies: "Child abduction." "And the problem is the cops found our hideout", adds Ellie. "Sweety, who said you could talk?", Kent asks. "Don't call her sweety! Her name is Julia Knife!", shouts Nick in indignation. Everyone starts laughing. Ellie looks Kent confidently in the eyes. Kent notices her look. "Bet you can't do it!" "Do you have a knife?", replies Ellie. Kent hands her a knife. "Don't cut yourself", says the bartender mockingly. Ellie smiles. "You better be careful not to get a cut", replies Ellie and throws the knife right past the bartender into the wall. Everyone claps approvingly and the bartender blushes as Nick hugs and kisses Ellie. "Amazing Julia! Too bad you're always underestimated", says Nick happily. Kent ponders for a moment. "You're really good. You're welcome to start in my system. What's your name?", he says. "Daniel Hall. What's in it for us?"  "Money. And tips on how to do it better", replies Kent. Ellie and Nick look at each other. "Okay. We're in", Nick says. "Where are you guys from?", Kent asks. "From Kenton, Ohio", Ellie replies. "That explains why I don't know you and why I don't know anything about the police operation. When was that?" "Yesterday", Ellie replies. "And you already have an apartment in DC?", Kent asks curiously. "We were going to take the ransom to DC and then to Mexico", says Ellie. Nick adds: "That's why we had already bought a cheap apartment." Kent says to the bartender: "You always give them what they want. Except when you don't have it. Do you understand me?" The bartender nods. "Daniel, Julia, come on! I'll show you my company now", Kent says to Daniel and Julia. Julia and Daniel look at each other and nod. Then they follow Kent out of the building and get into the car with him. Kent drives off.
