Like A Sore Thumb

I woke up in a cloud of a bed, my body twisted between black satin sheets while my arm was hidden away under the matching pillows. Sunlight had not yet poured in, and it wouldn't for another hour. I was internally grateful for it not being there, I wouldn't have been able to function with my eyes burning like hot coals the whole time. My sunglasses were destroyed in the fight, so I had no protection from the rays that would be peaking out in an hour or so.

I drug myself out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, finally taking in the beauty and luxury of it. It looked like those bathrooms you see in magazines, mine was different from Vali's. A black claw foot tub with gold feet sat at an angle in the dead center of the room, a lush black round rug sat up under it. A chandelier hung from the ceiling right above the tub, adding to the elegance in the room.

But as much as I loved the tub, I decided to use the shower that stretches across the back wall. It took me a while to figure out how to work it, but when I did I ended up having the best shower of my life. The water was way hotter than the one I was accustomed to back at home, my eyes closed as the water pelted at my skin with strong pressure. When I got out I wrapped a towel around me and made my way to the closet, which was half empty by my small amount of clothes.

I got dressed in a gray cropped sweatshirt and matched them with light high waisted skinny jeans. My hair was pulled up in a messy top bun, and my feet were covered by light smoke gray Jordan 1's. I looked at the rising sun, assuming it was time to go.

I walked into the living room, laughing at the memory of last night where Wendall and I acted like fools. It was safe to say we were already good friends. "What are you laughing about?" Ahh, there goes that deep voice I knowwww,

"Nothing, just thinking." My finger wiped at the imaginary tears that gathered and began to spill over. I looked over to Vali, who was dressed in a black shirt and matte black bomber jacket. I looked down to see him wearing black yeezys, my eyes widen at his choice of outfit.

"Yah know for a 2000 year old warrior, you really know how to dress."

His eyes looked down to his attire then back to mine after looking at my outfit, "Is this how kids dress at your school?"

"Uhh they have more color but yeah I guess. Wait why?"

"I think it's about time I go to school." My eyebrows rose so high they probably were half an inch from meeting my hairline. Vali...going to school?????

"So let me get this straight, you're going to school with me?"

"Yes, I thought I made that quite obvious." My eyes rolled but a question popped into my head before I could retort. "Can we stop on the way, I need to buy a pair of sunglasses."

"Follow me." Vali turned and walked towards a room I hadn't been in yet. He pushes a large intimidating ebony door open, revealing a stunning room. If someone took the time to sit and paint a replica of it, it would probably be named Midnight just by the essence of it.

The black king size bed sat facing the open sliding doors, the same ones that lead to a black stone balcony which held an infinity pool at the edge. A soft breeze filled the room, making you feel like you were down on the city streets below going for a walk. It gave the room an extra alluring feel.

There was a major difference between this room and the rest in the whole penthouse. The only color wasn't black, but a mixture of dark gray and navy blue as well. Instead of a full blown closet there were racks upon racks stacked on top of each other all the way to the ceiling on the furthest wall, covered in jackets, hoodies, shirts, jeans, suits, joggers, and pretty much any piece of clothing possible.

A door separated the wall, on the other side there was endless shelves of all types of shoes, all ranging from Timberlands, Dr. Martens, Jordan's, Nike's, Yeezy's, Louboutin's, Balenciaga's, Armani dress shoes, and practically every designer brand ever.

I swear if I knew I could kill him I would take a vase to his head and steal his stuff.

The wall his bed was against was made of black smooth stone, creating a modern rugged look for the room as well as pretty much everything in the room. He walks down the wall in front of us and stops, only then do I realize the aching in my jaw that was practically touching my chest. I force my legs to move where he is, which is right in front of floating shelves that cover the wall.

On the shelves there is glasses, sunglasses, wallets, belts, watches, ties, bowties, and rings. He looks back at me, studying my face before grabbing a gray pair of brow line sunglasses of the shelf and placing them on my face with unhuman precision. The room immediately darkened to my liking, making me study everything again, including Vali's outfit.

"We have to change that outfit."

"Why?"

"Well it's a good outfit but you look like a twenty year old, not a seventeen year old. You'll stick out like a sore thumb."

"Then what am I supposed to wear, you humans already dress awkward already."

I laugh and walk over to the racks, my eyes lighting up when I think up a perfect outfit. My hands grab a black leather jacket and white hoodie, my feet carry me over to the shelves of shoes where I grab a pair of white Air Forces. When I hand the stuff to him he looks up to me with a questioning look.

"Trust me." He walks into the bathroom and changes, I walk outside and breathe in the clean morning air. I feel on top while I look down at the hustle and bustle of the beautiful city below.

"Okay let's go." Vali stands dressed, his hair looks roughed up matching everything else. This man knows he looks good.

I walk towards him, his fingers brush my forehead and his voice does that weird deep thing.

"Σχολείο."
