Retirement

I open my eyes as a ray of sunlight shines on my face. I look around and stretch before seeing Yokos arms wrapped around me. I smile and close my eyes again

Yoko and I had been married for about a year now and we're enjoying our lives on the small island Yoko taught at. Following the wedding, Rossiu discharged every member Team Dai Gurren to retirement. Simon went off to do his own thing around the world, Kittan stayed in Kamina City with Vanessa while also being the owner of my bar. Leeron and his crew of scientists continued working in the capital. And Gimmy and Darry took over my position as Military Captains. That left me and Yoko. We moved to this island and built a house for us and we've been happily married together since.

I see Yokos eyes flutter open as she wakes up too

"Morning sweetie" she yawns

"Sweetie?" I ask, "That's new. What happened to your tough, tomboy-ish attitude?"

"What? Can't a wife have pet names for her husband? Besides I only did that because we were fighting the beastmen. Now that we're retired and married, I can let my guard down and show my more gentle side" Yoko explains snuggling into my neck

"Fair point" I say, "Don't you have work today?"

"Nope, today is Kamina Day" Yoko explains, "You have to deal with me aaaaalllll day"

"I wouldn't want it any other way" I say before we kiss

I get dressed as Yoko gets in the shower, and go downstairs to make breakfast

I start making some eggs, bacon, and pancakes before Yoko comes down in sweats and a tank top. She sits down on the couch and starts to brush her sopping wet hair. I then finish up the food and make two plates for us before going to sit with her on the couch

"Whatya wanna do today?" I ask as we both finish breakfast

"I honestly just wanna sit here and cuddle with you and watch TV" she responds

"Sure" I say, "I got nothing better to do"

We waste the day away in each other's arms watching movies, tv shows, documentaries, etc

"Y/N can I be honest with you?" Yoko asks with a huge blush on her face

"Yeah what's up?" I ask

"I want a baby" she says

I stop in my tracks and look at her

"Uuuuuuuhhhhh...what?" I ask still trying to comprehend what she just asked

"It's just that whenever I go to work and I see all those kids happy, smiling faces, it makes me want a kid of my own" Yoko confesses

"I mean I kinda thought we'd wait a little bit before having kids" I say

"I mean we've both lived very eventful and adventurous lives and we're only 24. Don't you think it's time we slow down and start a family" Yoko asks

"I mean it's not that I don't want to have kids it's just that...it's just that you kinda caught me off guard and...and I'll have to think about it" I explain

"I don't want to force it on you. I just wanted to see if you were ready" Yoko says before going back to watching the movie

"If we're being honest with each other, I have something to admit too" I say

"What's up babe?" Yoko asks

"I can't help but feel a little useless to you" I say sheepishly

"What do you mean?" Yoko asked confused at my question
