"Everybody evacuate! A curse has been spotted in the village!"

—~—

First Person POV

Sukuna and I immediately shifted our attention to the shout we heard ahead of us. We saw mobs of people sprinting away from the main road as cries of terror and agony reigned amongst the crowd.

Ba-dum

'No, no, no,' I thought in fear as my hands trembled uncontrollably, 'No... please.'

Ba-dum ba-dum

'Stop, please stop,' I clenched my chest as if I was trying to calm my racing heart, 'Not now. Not this village. Not my friends. Not my family...'

Ba-dum ba-dum ba-

I was interrupted by my anxious thoughts when Sukuna placed a hand on my shoulder. His red eyes were not focused on me, but rather the people that ran for their lives. That smug look he wore earlier was replaced by an alarmingly contemplative expression. It was the kind of blank stare that no one could decipher what he was thinking or feeling even if they tried.

'Right,' I began to stand up from my position- my (h/c) hair falling over my eyes, 'I cannot get scared now. I have a village to save.'

"Sukuna..." I started, determination filling my (e/c) eyes, "Run as far away as you can. I'm going to stall for time, so at the very least, I want you to escape."

With that, I began to dash towards the scene until the pink-haired man grabbed my wrist. I turned back in confusion to face a frowning Sukuna.

"I'll deal with it."

"W-Wha-?" I looked at him in bewilderment, "No! Run away! You already dealt with this in your hometown! You deserve a better life, Sukuna."

I sent a small, sorrowful smile and there it was. No response, nor any movement. It was just that blank gaze once again.

Taking that as my cue to leave, I sprinted as fast as I could to the main road. Many of the villagers pushed me out of the way to get to safety and I had to fight the sea of people to get to the disaster.

"Ahh-!" I screamed as something had pierced into my left shoulder. Blood dripped down my arm and I looked over to see a small knife embedded into my skin.

'Damn,' I bit my lip and decided to toughen through it.

I couldn't take the opportunity to take it out and bandage it myself because that would waste time for defeating the curse. Although, I couldn't think much of the pain as I noticed more weapons flung towards my direction. I hastily jumped out of the way and landed on my other, uninjured arm.

I sat up and my gaze landed on the being that started the chaos, 'There you are.'

The curse was gray-ish in tone with eight, spindly limbs- four of which are its legs and the other four its arms. It had four, void-black eyes that are aligned in diagonals and two separate mouths. But the most distinguishing feature of this curse was the various knives and swords lodged deep into its body.
