Aurora Park hated Mondays. They were dreadful, and overall just plain boring—it was as simple as that. However, this particular Monday wasn't all too bad. She was currently sitting on her couch with a bowl of ice cream in her lap as an old romantic comedy played on her television. Small drops of rain cried down her window panes, racing each other to the very bottom.

She had just sent Valerie home, her neighbor spending over an hour gossiping about the cast of her new show. Honestly, Rory was happy for her, but she couldn't help but envy the people who would get to see her every day. Once shooting started, Val wouldn't be able to be around much considering she would be filming all the way in London. Of course, Rory felt pride swell within her every single time Val brought up her role, but she would always find herself overthinking the very moment the woman exited the confines of the Park residence.

What if Val made new friends and forgot about her?

This very question boggled her mind so much to the point that she had to put on an awful movie to take her mind off of it. Before she could curse out the main character again for being so incredibly incompetent, her phone vibrated.

Grunting, she turned away from the television screen and dropped her spoon, picking up her phone to read the new notification.

With a single huff, she tossed the device aside and placed another spoonful of cookie dough ice cream into her mouth. It didn't take much for her to reflect on their goodbye—Val practically rushing out the door because she had overslept in what was supposed to be a mini nap. It was a quick interaction, far too quick for Rory's liking. She had wanted a proper goodbye, but there was nothing she could do but give a pathetic wave as her friend hopped into an Uber.

Pushing the thoughts aside, she set her bowl on the table and scoffed at the movie playing before her. It was only around three in the afternoon, Rory having done nothing but snack on ice cream and shout profanities at her screen for the span of the day.

However, her day would soon be uplifted. She had planned a fun stream with her friends for the night, hoping to add a little bit of spookiness to the game they were going to play. She believed it was just going to be Rae, Sykkuno, and Corpse joining her. To be honest, Rory wasn't exactly a huge fan of anything related to the terrifying genre known as horror, so she wasn't entirely sure how the night was going to play out.
