The Freak shall inherit the Earth - it's a saying from Matthias Fitz's favorite TV show, Tales After The Bomb - a cartoon about the post-apocalypse - mutants, cyborgs, zombies, anarchist DJs, & a wasteland - everything an ultra-geek could want. Mattie may not have tentacles like his technicolor heroes - but growing up disabled & in a wheelchair, he often felt like a mutant. Until he met Avalon Gates. Ava lit up his life - & they bonded over their love of all things weird & wonderful. Mattie, along with Ava & her BFF Peregrine Farr, had many adventures back in high school. But a year after graduation - Ava is dead & nothing makes sense anymore. This is the sort of thing that used to happen on Tales After The Bomb - not in real life... Mattie & Peregrine are reeling, unable to escape their memories & regrets, so they go on a quest - to cross the country in search of the fabled lost scripts from Tales After The Bomb's final season. & hopefully - along with them - some sort of peace. Avalon Bombshell is a novel written in verse (narrative poetry). Cover art by John William Waterhouse - The Lady of Shalott, 1888. Edited.
