"Kenji, I think you will really love it here. It's a new culture and a new start!" my mom said trying to convince me that moving 5,000 miles away from home was a good idea. I rolled my eyes "But why does a new start have to take us all the way around the world? I was perfectly fine living in LA" I said trying not to raise my voice at the most foolish sentences I've ever heard. I stared out the window of my apartment that was on the 23rd floor, where the night sky was pitch black and the moon was risen. "Look! I cant even see the stars in this polluted country!" I said in in disbelief hoping that my mom would feel guilty about dragging me thousands of miles away from home. "Theres a lot more to Korea than no stars in the sky, Kenji" mom said as she started to walk towards me. "I thought you have always wanted to come to Korea" she looked out the window where the lights of the city were displayed above the Han River. (this is not sexualizing Yeji in any way, all fiction and for fun)
