"Sir Meliodas? Ban said he needs to speak to you in private. Is there something wrong?", Elizabeth blue eyes sparkled with worry. Meliodas and Ban has been spending an awful lot of time together. Meliodas hasn't spoken a word about what they were doing and Elizabeth is curious.

"Private huh? I don't think it's anything too serious", Meliodas sat down his cup of booze and walked out with no hint of worry.

Elizabeth sat down at the bar laying her head against her hand. Something was off and she can tell, but why won't he share what was going on?

For Ban it's normal, but Medliodas? He seems so serious these past couple days, but only puts a brave face on for Elizabeth. Why?

(Meanwhile outside)

"What seems to be the problem bud?", asked the blonde haired male.

"Stop it would ya. I got the number you needed from that old guy, now tell me why you need Elaine", Ban had no patience left for his games.

"Give me the number and I'll tell you everything you want to know", Meliodas spoke.

"Fine. Here. Now spill captain. Why is Elaine so important to you all of a sudden"

"Like you told me a few years back...she was the one who guarded the Fountain of Youth, right?"

"Yeah why?"

"Did anyone ever get to it?"

"No. Only me. You know this captain"

"Yeah I do. It's just some new information was given to me earlier this week by Merlin and I don't know if that's true. I didn't want to talk to Elaine about it because maybe this is a sensitive topic for her"

"I can ensure you that I'm the only one that's gotten a taste of that fancy water. Now is that all? Elaine is waiting for me and I don't want to keep her waiting. She's not feeling well"

"Yeah after you finish one last thing for me"

"Which is?"

"I need you to ask Elaine for the truth. Who else managed to drink from the fountain of youth"

..............................................................................

"I'm assuming he gave you the same story correct?", Merlin asked while tweaking her new invention.

"Yeah. I told him to ask Elaine for me because this isn't adding up"

"Now now captain. Don't go over analyzing this"

"I'm not. It's clear that she's still alive. Everybody is gonna know this isn't just some myth"

"You say that as if it's a bad thing"

"It is! I don't mean to blow up on you Merlin, but you need to understand that if Elizabeth even gets a fraction of her memory back then it's over. It will all be over"

"I do understand that captain. That's why I'll do anything in my power to make sure that doesn't happen. Now sit in here as long you want. We don't want the other seeing you like this. It's just an endless string of questions if they do"

"Right. I'll just sit in here for awhile"

....................................................................................

"Ban...your back", the sick fairy smiled.

"Sorry I took so long. Are you feeling any better?"

"I wish. It's really hot"

"Let me go get you a fresh towel"

"I know you have something to ask me. It seems to be important"

"You know sometimes I forget you have that power of yours"

"Don't stall, what did you want to ask me"

"Well the captain wanted me to ask you if there was anybody that drank from the fountain of youth. I told him that it was only me. You decided to give it to me while you were dying a-and he insist that there was somebody else, but I don't th-"

"Ban slow down. Are you asking me if there was somebody else that drank from the fountain?"

Ban nodded his head biting his lip from anticipation. He was sure that nobody else was able to reach the fountain but he can very much be wrong.

"When I was protecting it no", she reassured.

"Wait? Somebody else was in charge of protecting it"

"Of course. My brother"

Bans eyes squinted from this new found information. Was he the first protector of the fountain? if so then why didn't he ever bring it up.

"Ok. Let me go get that towel for you", he grabbed her hand, kissing it before leaving the room. Ban is gonna do a little investigation.
