As the Avengers personal witch you were bombarded with task and favours daily. Most of the time you didn't mind but took joy in causing chaos and pranks when bored.
Loki being the god of tricks himself admired Y/n's skills in sorcery and mischief...
"Well," he flicks his wrist, an identical ball appearing in his palm. "It's based on emotions, Mother taught me how to make one of these when I was younger to keep me company,"
He tapped the globe twice, a soft glow emitting from it. "But you have to link it up to another one for it to work," Loki dragged his finger across the clear surface, linking the light to the one in yours.
Both globes glowed bright, your eyes in a daze of awe. "For example, when I had a nightmare, I'd place the ball in my hand and it would let the globe my mother kept glow the same colour and alert her,"
"That's so sweet," You mumble and focus on an emotion, Loki's globe suddenly glowing bright yellow. "Cool!"
"It works as more than a light too," Loki closed his eyes and thought of a message. Your eyes trailed down to the crystal which fogged up, words slowly floating across like a magic 8 ball.
Lydia stole a candy bar from your stash
"Lydia!" You snap to the witchling who was mid way through a Snickers.
"Damn you, Loki!" She screams, running down the hall, trying to escape your wrath.
Suddenly Loki was met with a cane. "Hey!" he rubs the top of his head and looks to Delphine.
"Court her,"
"I shall do no such thing," Loki rids his hand of the orb and picks up the book you had gifted him. He looks around at the group who groaned. "What?- Ow!" Lydia suddenly popped up in front of him and fell backwards.
"Lydia!" You shrill and storm over, tripping over one of Vision's gifts and falling towards the girl. What made it worst was that she popped out of Loki's grasp letting you tackle the god down.
Lydia bursts into laughter from beside the two fallen sorcerers until she was pulled down by Loki into your lap. She continued to giggle as you and Loki cradle her in your arms, both of you starting to tickle her. "I- I'm sorry!" she blurts out.
"Hmm, should we stop?" you muse to Loki.
"I'm sure she's learned her lesson," the god chuckles.
"Rude,"
"What's rude was stealing Y/n's candy, witchling," Loki ruffles her hair. The group watched softly, more so the god of thunder. Never had he seen his younger brother so openly loving to someone other than their mother, yes there may have been Fandral at some point in time.
But this was different. So very different, he saw the glint he had seen missing from Loki's eyes for so long.
It was a glint of youth, care, reason... reason for going on... as bad as that sounded, but Loki felt lost for so long, shrouded in the shadow of his brother. He was so easily doubted, brawn outweighing brain.
He was smart, gifted, but that was never good enough for Odin. Thor had gone so long dismissing his father's dislike for the brother he had sworn to protect, so blinded by his need to be worthy and reach the golden throne that ruled over all nine realms.
He never saw it, it being the slow fading glow which shattered when Loki found out about his heritage. Thor, he didn't know about the heritage until much later, after Loki's apparent death but he did spot the missing shine that coated his younger brother's aura.
But here it was. Right here, with you and a young girl he had grown a soft spot for. A witchling that almost reminded him of his younger self the way you have as well.

Holding onto your gifts tight, your hands clutching tight, your foot slipping just slightly that the top gift fell at your feet.
"Careful," Loki picked up the gift and placed it on your pile.
"It would be considerably more helpful if you were to take a few from the pile," you snark causing a laugh to leave him.
"Yes, well, what's the fun in that?" he pokes in the box of falling sweets from in-between as you sent a glare. A small tickle of snow landed on your nose as Loki and you both looked to the skies above.
In the frame above, a single mistletoe grew with a rosy red ribbon snaking into a luscious bow. A lump stuck in your throat as you directed your glare to the group, snickering wildly as mama Delphine let her glowing purple hand fade away to leave the blooming Mistletoe above.
"Pucker up, love birds!" Tony hollered.
"Insufferable," You let the gifts hang mid air as you stood on your tip toes to place a kiss on Loki's heated cheeks. "Merry Christmas, Loki," a few boo's filed in soon enough as you left the scene, hoping that the tint on your cheeks weren't as bright as a summer's day.
"Merry Christmas, Y/n," was all he could mutter before crying out in pain as Thor lifted him up. "Put me down!"
