Y/N's POV

After waiting for what it felt like eternity, a woman came out of the reception and spoke to me about the school system, rules and my weekly schedule.

Striving to become a doctor, it's no doubt that I'd choose all their science option. Sure it would require more hours of my day spent at school or studying during the weekends but in the end, it'll be worth it. It has to be.

We began walking towards my first class when all of a sudden, I felt this uneasy feeling scratching every inch of my body. My hands no longer felt sanitised. But why? Is it the atmosphere? Did we pass a bathroom or worse...is this school near a sewage tunnel? I'm being dramatic. I know that. But what if one day it bursts open and floods the school? What if rats secretly one day decide to enter the school? I need to calm down.

"Excuse me, is there any bathroom near by?" I asked, subtly slowing down my heart rate.

"No. Unfortunately, it's all the way down the second floor," she replied.

Oh great. The one time I'm in desperate need to relieve anxiety, the bathroom is too far. There's no way I could ask to go when I'm already late for class. Just relax and focus on getting through the day without failing. You're perfect. You're talented. You're capable of anything and everything.

We arrive at my first period which I assumed it was math, since the decoration of the classroom was filled with numbers, formulas and trigonometric circles. Surprised the lady didn't bother to hint that I first had maths. But then again, I didn't even bother to ask.

"Sorry for disturbing your class, but we have a new student here that will be joining your class. Why don't you introduce yourself?" She said, nudging me forward.

"Hi...um...I'm L/N Y/N, please to meet you all. Hopefully we can get along," I tried to sound genuine and kind. Did I smile? I did. A lot of gum? No. Good. This was a bad first impression. I blew it.

"Miss L/N, can you please take off your mask," Sensei suggested as it were an option. If I could, I'd say I'd rather die. "I can't do that Sensei. The air dynamic makes me nauseous. It is written in my file about my condition."

We love an incompetent teacher that never cares for their student. Stan sensei for clear skin...am I right?

"Okay...well you may go sit next to the boy with the mask," he pointed at the vacant seat.

I shifted passed all the glaring, soon-to-be, classmates towards my desk and as I sat down, I quickly took out my disinfect-in gel and secretly sanitised my hands.

I took out my notepad and pencil case out to start noting what the teacher wrote on the board. It was only then that I realised that the class only had large desks to fit two individuals. I don't understand why I couldn't be next to a girl but a guy? A guy?

"Well back to it, we are going to continue with vectors. I am going to hand out a sheet of exercises that you need to hand in just before the end of the third hour," sensei began to handout the sheets to the first row of students.

Once he finally reached my row, he took a pause before dropping the paper on the table. "If you are stuck or have any problems, please tell me or ask your neighbour," he smiled while handing the worksheets to the both of us.

The rest of the hour was spent me completing the exercises with ease and precision. Had I decided to ignore this chapter, I would've been fucked. I can't help but low-key feel proud of myself. I mean, I finished the work before the end of the period. Successful by Ariana Grande sounds like masterpiece once you understand the true meaning of success.
