 Austin

I reach the place where this charity event was taking place. It was only around 30 minutes from the hotel.

"I dont think this is a very good idea. At least you should inform your father" Adam says.

"How about No?" I say and walk ahead into the entrance.

"Austin you have to tell your father" Adam says sternly.

"Adam why dont you see it? He doesn't care! He has somewhere else to be he wouldn't even notice that I went and did this show" I say in a tone that this was final.

I heard Adam sigh and mutter something but I could care less about that.

The place where this was happening was a hall called the three times six hall. When I walked in it was huge. I mean it wasn't as huge as the shows that dad plays but it could easily seat over a 1000 people.

"Wow" I say to myself. There were people on the stage getting the speakers ready.

"Austin here!" I hear someone call out to me.

I turn around to see Ross there at the end.

I walk over to him.

"So this is the place. What do you think?" He asks.

"I think it is huge" I say with a nervous chuckle.

"Dont worry about that. Come on let us get ready. I have already informed the manager of the event that you are performing" He says and leads the way backstage.

We sit and discuss what songs that I could sing. I didn't really have any originals that I was confident of performing. I mean I did have some but I didn't want to perform them. So we decided that I would perform this song the gospel, cold water, attention and I knew you were waiting for me.  I mean those are the songs that I have covered before so those were easy.

All the songs I did with a guitar but I didn't have mine now. So ross said he would give me his guitar. We were at least 45 minutes till the show starts. I was the first act then it was ross and his band R5 and they were 2 other acts after that.

I gave them my laptop it had a couple of backing tracks on there for some of the songs.

During my time here getting the songs ready and stuff I learnt that the group doing this charity event was called the Holy Trinity Charity  they were going around America doing events like this were they got small time artists to perform and raise money. They mainly donated the money to research in the field of cancer and they helped families like me and my mom financially so that they could get the same treatment. The people who started this foundation also lost someone dear to them from cancer because they couldn't get the help they required so now they are trying to help others that need it. Almost everyone here managing this event all lost someone. They all come here or which ever part of the world they are in and help this foundation. It is one of the most popular charity foundations. I felt like I connected with the people here. I mean all of them were so open about the people they had lost. I wish I could be like that but I couldnt. I still hated talking about mum. I still felt like this was all my fault that she was gone even though many people who know about what happened to mum tell me it isn't my fault.

>>>>>>>

I looked from the backstage area to see that the place was already filling up. Wow that was a lot of people. I could almost sense that I was going to go over there and and sound like a squirrel singing and then get booed off the stage.

Adam was still of no help. He still insists that I call dad and tell him where I am and what I am going to do. But let us all be honest dad has other better things to do than worry about me doing random shit.

The announcer went up of stage That meant that I had about 10 minutes till I was called on stage.

The stage manager Luke called me over and to give me my ear piece. I put in my ears made sure everything was connected. He gave me a wireless mic that I would have to put into the mic stand when I was going to perform with the guitar.

"You are all set kid" He says. I reply with a thank you before he heads off.

I peak over again from behind the curtains backstage and hell did the hall get filled. I could feel my heart beat at a much faster rate now. Ross wasn't here he had to get ready for his performance after me. Why did I let someone I dont even know drag me into this?? I am so going to mess up.

I hear a sigh from behind me. I turn to see that it was Adam.

"Relax Austin you will be fine" He says.

"I thought you weren't talking to me" I say with a dry chuckle.

"I wasn't until I saw that you were on the verge of bolting from here. Even though as your head of security I  dont think you should do this. But ass a friend I think you should do this. I mean the stage in only a few feet away from you. Dont bolt now" He says.

"Thanks.... See I knew you couldnt be mad at me for long" I say laughing.

"You are still a pain" he says. with a chuckle.

I just shrug.

"Tomlinson you are on now!" The assistant stage manager calls out.

I nod. Adam gives me a encouraging nod.

I walk to side and enter the stage. The whole place was pin drop silence. I dont think they expected a teenager to come here. All the eyes were trained on me. I knew I have to say something but nothing was coming out of my mouth. It was like I didn't know how to speak anymore.

Oh for the love of anything! Open your mouth and speak! My internal voice yells at me.

"Hey guys" I say but it comes out more like a squeak. I cringe at my own voice.

I look to the side lines Adam was there he was enacting me to do something but I had no idea what he was even saying.

Take a deep breath look at your situation there is nothing to be afraid of. Everyone around us are only humans.   Something my mom said when I decided to sing for my school talent show. I mean this event is a long way from a talent show.

I took a deep cleansing breath. I feel myself gaining a new found confidence. I look around they were only humans... Nothing to be afraid of.

Let us try that again.

"Hey guys!" I say to the crowd standing straight with confidence.

The crowd starts to cheer.

"I dont think there was a proper introduction I am Austin Tomlinson" I say to the crowd. Everyone cheers some people looked in shock I guess they knew I was Louis's son.

"Anyways how did I end up hear tonight? I myself dont know the answer to that but I am here I might as well give you a show!" I say the crowd cheered again but this time they were louder.

"Okay the first song is gospel" I say. And take my seat on a stool that was placed for me to sit and placed the mic in stand.

After I sang that song I went on to talk to the crowd and perform my other songs.
