IMPORTANT AUTHOR NOTE: Hello friends! Terribly sorry to be posting so little, but school has been kicking my butt.  I have been incredibly stressed and sadly, my relationship with God has become strayed. As you all know, I put a Bible verse at the beginning of each chapter. I am no typically outspoken about this but now I feel the need to be. I am a devoted Christian woman. My dedication is to Father God and Lord Jesus Christ. Sharing verses is my way of sharing the TRUTH to you all. I hope you have felt some type of revelation. If you would like to learn about Jesus, please DM me and let me change your life. Don't be shy, no judgements! While what I wrote is unreal, the story of the Lord is 100% true. To reach an everlasting life, you must know the Lord. Please reach out, I'm always here. Enjoy! :)

Bree Morrison sat alone in the library, not for the first time and certainly not the last. Her roommates were always odd towards her. They didn't like Bree and she knew it. If she didn't leave them alone then they tended to leave her by herself. She figured if she went to the library she would at least be able to study.
Studying was keeping her mind off of Chase. He was at Blackthorne proving that he was like the rest of the boys. Bree knew he could be hurt, but she also knew that Chase was stubborn and would follow through with the request.
"Hey," a soft voice said. Bree looked up from her textbook and smiled.
"Well hi Angel," she said in a cheery tone. Annalise Goode was Chase's sister and Chase and Bree both adored her.
"Studying to keep your mind off of him?" Anna asked. Bree nodded. Anna gestured to the textbooks she had in her arms. "Me too."
"Where are Caroline and Diana?" Bree asked.
"Diana is giving Caroline bangs," Anna chuckled.
  "Rookie mistake," Bree replied.
"Where are your roommates?" Anna asked.
"Probably in our suite, I'm not sure," Bree sighed. "Cheyenne tolerates me, but Veronica hates me." Anna nodded.
Anna had never talked to Cheyenne or Veronica. She knew that Cheyenne was black, always had her hair in braids, was one of the fiercest women in the senior class, and rather intimidating. Veronica was a different story. Veronica's shoulder length black hair was always cut perfectly straight and it went well with her deeply tan skin. From what Anna knew, Veronica was mean. If she didn't like you, she'd make your life miserable.
"You can always come to our suite if you're worried about it being awkward," Anna offered.
"Thanks Angel. Honestly, awkwardness is the least of my worries. I'm terrified Veronica is going to slit my throat while I'm asleep!" Bree laughed. Anna laughed with her. The two were happy to be together, they always had felt like sisters.
"Annalise Goode!" Professor Elizabeth Sutton-Young shouted racing into the hallway. Anna stiffened.
"What is it Liz? Er, I mean professor Young," Anna replied. Bree watched as the incredibly thin Liz grabbed Anna's wrist with a grip that Bree was sure would break it.
"Headmistress Solomon requests you in her office," Liz replied. "Now!" Anna jumped up and made her way to her grandmothers office.
"See you later," Bree called after Anna.
"Oh not so fast Ms. Morrison," Liz said, grabbing Bree's attention. "Someone else has requested you in the hospital wing."
With that Bree was up and running. There was only one reason Anna would have to be briefed by her grandmother and Bree would be requested in the hospital wing: Chase. Bree bursted through the door and gasped.
Chase had his shirt off and was badly beaten. He had bruised and scratches with blood all over his body.
"Chase!" Bree cried. She ran and hugged him. He groaned at the pressure.
"Hey there, Gallagher Girl," he said weakly. He gave her the biggest smile he could manage.
"What happened to you?" Bree asked in shock.
"What do you think? I went to Blackthorne and had to fight all the guys without getting a break. Sure I won most of the time, but I was so tired by my last fights. That's when they put me up against the toughest," Chase explained. Bree put her hand to her mouth.
"What happened?" She breathed. Chase laughed a humorless, dark chuckle.
"He definitely gave me a run for my money. I was so tired, Bree. I couldn't fight back," he explained.
"So how did you make it out?"
"Remember Adalind and Amelia? Bex's twins? Their brother Peyton ripped the guy off and defended me. If he hadn't have been there I honestly don't know if I would be here. They wanted me dead."
"Who wanted you dead? We'll tell your grandmother or your parents or," she threw her hands up in exasperation. "Somebody!"
Chase ran his hand along her hair and down her chest until he could fidget with the locket she always wore.
"You could have died," she whispered.
    "I'm here though. I'm okay."
    "You could have died."
"Well you would have been my last thought. Bree I'm in love with you," Chase's tone turned serious. "You and me, we're like 2 hands holding onto each other." He laced her hand in his. "Intertwined together. When the hands are alone they can function, but there's no warmth. When they're together is when they feel warm and know that they're not alone."
"I think if I lived 100 different lives I would always find you," Bree admitted.
"And in all 100 of them I would always come back to you. I will always come back to you," Chase promised.
The loving look in his eyes was too much for Bree to take. She gently cupped his chin and kissed him. Bree didn't care what tomorrow would bring. All she cared about was being with Chase in that 1 special moment. If only the moment lasted. Bree nor Chase knew that by dawn. their home would be filled with killers. Chase's ghosts would haunt him. Bree was foolish in her moment with Chase. She had no idea that it was the start to the chain of events that lead to her and Chase's disappearance.
