nini pulled out her keys upon their arrival, unlocking her door and pushing it open. she turns back and looks at ricky, silently asking if he wants to come in.

he simply shakes his head and begins to walk away, stopping when nini suddenly says, "no wait! it's late, why don't you just stay here tonight? sleep on my couch?"

ricky looks at her with an incredulous look, "no it's ok, i was going to take a cab or uber or something."

she shakes her head at this, "no, you wouldn't let me take one, i'm not letting you take one," grabbing his hand and pulling him inside.

they sat on her couch planning to watch a movie since it was a friday and neither had any classes tomorrow.

"we're watching a disney movie, no arguments," she says, grabbing the remote and logging into her disney plus account.

he sits back and nods his head in agreement, allowing her to pick a movie.

she chose tangled, something they considered a tradition while they were still friends. he allows himself to push aside the looming obligation to talk to her.

as the movie progressed, ricky felt his eyes getting heavier, settling further into the couch. nini was beginning to get tired as well, softly dropping her head onto his shoulder. she opened her eyes as she heard the end credits, turning off the tv.

ricky had made himself comfortable lying down on the couch while nini sat up to put the remote back in its respective spot. with her eyes already half closed, she felt too dreary to make the trip to her bedroom. she grabbed a blanket from the basket beside the couch and settled in next to ricky.

the couch was small, leaving little space between the two, however she was too tried to care.

nini wakes up to the sound of her phone, wondering why she didn't turn her ringer off. she tries to sit up and grab her phone, however quickly realizes there's someone else next to her. slightly freaking out, she slowly pushes herself off of the couch.

when she realizes it's ricky, she breathes a sigh of relief, only to freak out more when she realizes she spent the night on the same couch as him. it wasn't a rare occurrence for them, however considering the circumstances she felt awkward.

before checking her phone, she walked to the kitchen to see what breakfast food she had. she sets a cereal box and a bowl on the counter, quickly writing a note letting ricky know where the rest of the stuff was, before running to the bathroom to take a quick shower, throwing her phone onto her bed.

as she's letting her hair dry, she remembers she had wanted to check her phone. she walks back into her bed room to grab it, immediately unlocking it and going to the group chat she had with her friends, nearly dropping her phone when she saw what they had been texting about.

she groans as she lets her hair down from where it was placed in a towel, putting on an oversized sweatshirt and sweatpants. when she walks back into the main area of her apartment, she sees ricky helping himself to a bowl of cereal.

"look at this," she says, walking over to him and showing him the picture kourtney sent her, "i'm gonna send it to my moms, i think it'll make them happy." he simply nods his head, giving her his approval.

ricky takes one last glance at the photo on nini's phone before she puts it in her pocket. watching her as she maneuvers around the kitchen making herself breakfast, he can't help but think that maybe, he could get used to this.
