ricky had bought her roses and a charm bracelet, something that's been on her wishlist for a long time. he knew this action would cross over into a territory they haven't been in since high school, however he planned to play it off as an act for her moms.

ricky thinks about gina's comment for longer than he'd like to admit after their conversation was over. he was in a good place with nini and wouldn't want to do anything to ruin it. just don't be surprised if she runs away, replayed in his head. he tells himself gina was joking, she had to be, there was no way nini would freak out over something as small as a bracelet.
but then his thoughts moved over to the night that he's been thinking about for the past four years. those words, for lack of a better explanation, were a much bigger deal than a bracelet.
he could return the bracelet and go with a more simple approach, giving her the flowers he had bought while he was out shopping today. flowers would match the stereotype and still serve their purpose for the scheme.
