"Can I ask you something?" Clara asked Elise.

"Depends", she said, playing with one of the controls on the console.

"How...how did you escape the Time War? The Doctor said it was timelocked," Clara said.

Elise sighed. Her father wouldn't remember the conversation in the Tower, but if she told Clara would she remember?

"It is, but there was time when it wasn't. Back when he was his tenth self, the one you just met. My father, my real father, was on the High Council, so I was ignored a lot and I pretty much stopped speaking altogether. Why talk if no one is going to listen to you anyway? He didn't realize how clever I was, so when the Timelords returned I came through with them. I heard them talking about a planet called earth and I didn't care where it was. I just wanted off Gallifrey and away from the Time War."

"Like father, like daughter," Clara said.

Elise laughed. "I guess you could say that."

The Doctor entered the TARDIS. "Where to?"

"Home for me, I think. You two look like you could use some father/daughter time," Clara said.

The Doctor flipped a lever. "Home it is."
