Hate was such a strong word, Orion remembered her mother telling her never to hate something so quickly, especially when she could only see the surface.
However, right now, as she sat down on her bed, a Slytherin sweater in her hand, she couldn't help but feel only hatred in her heart towards the person who threw the sweater at her yesterday.
Orion has been sitting on her bed for the last thirty minutes, she let all of her friends go to breakfast without her. She knew she's going to hate herself later for missing breakfast but she didn't want to embarrass herself by walking into the hall with a Slytherin sweater on. She had tried the sweater with jeans on; it was too big for her, and it looked ugly. She didn't like going out with something she doesn't feel good at. Cho told her to pair the sweater with her dark velvety skirt, a shirt on, and to tuck it to make it bearable. She knew it was a good idea, she had thought about that too, but the thing was, she wasn't sure she wanted to look good in Draco's sweater.
She didn't want to look good for him.
"But, Cho, a skirt? I don't know," Orion said when Cho pulled out her skirt from her wardrobe earlier.
"Orion, you never say no to a good short skirt, especially this one," Cho looked at her funny. "Besides we wear skirts every day and you always flaunt your pretty legs with your signature over-the-knee socks. The only difference with today is just your Slytherin sweater," Cho said before she and Padma along with Marietta left her alone in their dorm.
Orion decided to change her jeans into what Cho has prepared for her on her bed. She looked at herself in the mirror on the corner of their dorm. This was too good. She didn't want him to think she dressed up for him. Maybe the ugly jeans would just do?
"Merlin, Mikaelson, you're still here?" asked Cho when she walked into the room after breakfast with Marietta.
"You look good, Orion. Don't stress it," Marietta said while sitting down on her bed.
"Yeah, well, that's the thing, I don't want to look good for Malfoy," Orion rolled her eyes and turned on her heel to face both of them.
"Well, you could just look good for yourself," Cho shrugged. "Besides, he wanted you to wear the sweater, why don't you give him hell then?" Cho smirked and walked to her after taking a ribbon from Orion's desk and put it on Orion's half up and down hair that she did earlier.
"And you're done," Marietta said while standing up from her bed. "Now, let's go eat breakfast before you hate yourself. They have peanut butter and jam toasts that you like so much."
They all walked to the Great Hall together, Orion could feel a few pairs of eyes looking at her as they walked towards the Great Hall door. Cho and Padma decided to leave her in front of the Great Hall door alone since they already had their breakfast, and Orion decided to walk towards the Slytherin table in a hurried pace.
If she thought the few pairs of eyes that were oozing her on the way to the Great Hall was uncomfortable, she was most likely did not anticipate what was coming next, because as soon as she entered the Great Hall everyone turned their heads to face her right after Fred Weasley said, "Did you just hit your head, Orion?" loudly when he saw what she was wearing.
Orion smiled at the Gryffindor table sheepishly before she stormed off to the Slytherin table and plopped herself between Cassiopeia and Cepheus. She sat down and proceeded to bury her face on her hand.
"Orion?" Cepheus shook her shoulder softly. "Are you okay?"
"Um, Orion. I kind of also need to ask, did you just hit your head, indeed?" This time it was Cassiopeia who asked. She widened her eyes towards Blaise who was sitting in front of her with the same widened eyes while trying to hold his laughter.
