Hhhh- it's me making flags again- So, all you need to know is that this flag was originated in the 1600s—1700s/ at the height of the Spanish Empire, and that it was safe to spite the British,French and Portuguese Empires that constantly ruled the island. Kind of a 'no we belong to the Spanish crown and we are independent from you' thing.
So, the flags! Let me walk through 11 versions of the same general idea :D Also I'm addicted to putting flowers in the center-

So, this is the 'prototype' i guess. I found a bunch of problems some the start, such as how could I put the flower if the background was white, and the Burgundy Cross is red? The only option left was blue, but that would be too much "important" blue. I also didn't like the blue hue.

I changed the blue hue, (which i also didn't like, shockers) added a blue circle, changed the flower into white and rectangularized the cross because it's actually square. I liked it a little more, but the blue hue threw me off.

So this next one, i changed the blue hue into a navy one, (coming from the Bonnie Blue Flag) deleted the vertical bars and added horizontal bars that connected to the circle. Now i liked this one too, but it oddly reminds me of Laos-
