"My name is Dazai Osamu, captain of the Vagabonds."

You pulled out your dagger from your boot and, in one swift move move, you had it at his throat.

"I suggest you stop lying unless you're willing to die right here and now."

His eyes appeared to light up in pure glee, "Are you saying you're willing to commit double suicide with me? Oh what a wonderful woman you are!" He sang as if this was a normal conversation and – most importantly – he didn't have the tip of a knife touching his neck. "However, I can't say I'm a fan of such a dirty suicide."

"What are you on about?" You were so confused you felt your grip loosen slightly, then as soon as you noticed you held the weapon tighter and pressed the entire blade against his neck. "If you're trying to distract me, it's not going to work." You spat through gritted teeth.

"My dear, I was dead serious." He sighed in disappointment. "However, it seems as though you weren't. And here I thought I finally found a woman willing to die with me."

"You disgusting, little-"

Dazai reached for the knife and pushed it away, only for you to press into it more, drawing a little blood from his hand.

"I would be very careful of where I'd point that thing if I were you, we wouldn't want anyone to get hurt now."

You were about to tell the twins to cover their eyes when you saw something that left you speechless. From the corner of your eye you caught sight of Atsushi holding both the children unconscious in his right arm and a pistol pointing right at their heads in his left. You turned completely, lowering your knife from the other man just a little.

"Atsushi..." you spoke softly, unbelieving. "How could you..."

"I'm sorry Lady (Y/n)." The silver haired boy said in a determined voice. "I can't help you, not until you let my captain go." He spoke in a determined tone.

Your eyes widened with stupor as your own voice was coated in disbelief and a little bit of hysteria "You must be mad!" You squealed. "You can't possibly expect me to believe that he–" You pointed at the brunet who wore a smug expression, "is the captain of a legendary pirate crew. And that you–" You said pointing at the younger lad this time. "Are part of said crew. The story of those people is for children and madmen, the latter are those who do not wish to grasp, or even accept the fact that: those fantasies they read in books? Are. Not. Real."

You finished your little fit with heavy puffs of air. The brunet seemed mildly amused, whilst the boy looked like he was trying so hard to put up a face. The former then took a few steps towards you and took your chin in his fingers, forcing you to look him in the eye.

"While I do believe everyone should have their own opinion let me tell you this miss." His words then dialled down to a mere whisper. "I assure you, we are real, we do exist. And unless you want us to take your siblings in exchange for an object in your father's possession, I would recommend you come quietly and obediently." He ended with a smile that was kind and gentle on the outside, but as soon as you looked a little more into it, it became dark and cruel like his cold eyes.

You glanced between the traitor and the madman and decided. "Are any of the servants alive?" You asked lightly.

"Most of them are asleep on the ground, the few who rebelled were killed instantly." Atsushi said, sad but not regretful.

You nodded in understanding, "Then I swear I'll come with you if you release the twins this very instant." You glared at the boy's questioning look. "The first thing the servants will do after they have woken up should be search for their masters, we aren't far from the manor so I suppose someone will be here after not too long." You explained flatly.
