                                                Chapter 5

Katherine quickly tried to slam the door but the man stuck his foot in right before it closed causing Katherine to jolt backwards. She immediately started backing away slowly trembling in fear as the man stepped closer to her.

“Calm down Kate I’m not here to hurt you” he said as a wicked smile played across his lips.

“You shouldn’t be here Br…Brian” Katherine stuttered out as she bumped back into the kitchen counter causing her to shriek and jump forward landing right in Brian’s arms.

“There…There Kate it’s ok” he whispered menacingly against her ear.

“Take your hands off me!” she cried out gaining a bit of courage as she shoved him off her.

“So playful tonight aren’t we” Brian mocked as he stepped closer to her, Katherine now moving behind the kitchen counter. She picked up a knife from the holder on the counter and pointed it at Brian.

“St…stay away from me” she cried out stuttering as her hand trembled. Brian threw his hands up like she was a timid animal and slowly backed away.

“Whoa calm down Kate I’m not going to hurt you just relax” he whispered looking from her to the knife.

“Get out of my house now Brian!” she growled at him as she moved closer but Brian grabbed for the knife so she swung it missing by an inch. Brian grabbed ahold of her wrist as he slammed it against the counter knocking the knife free from her hand and bruising her wrist.

Katherine cried out in pain as she tried to pull her wrist away from him but the pain rung through her body. Brian quickly wrapped her arms across her chest and pulled her against him.

“You’re lucky all you got was a bruised wrist. Have you lost your mind?” he hissed into her ear as she sobbed.

“I just came here to talk now calm the fuck down” he growled at her before shoving her onto the couch and going over to shut the door. Katherine squirmed uneasy on the couch as she looked around desperately for her phone. Brian sat down beside her and ran a hand through her hair making Katherine want to puke.

“The red looks nice in your hair” he mocked as he moved closer.

“So I hear your dating the mayor of this town. Is that true?” he asked as he leaned into her hair inhaling deeply but Katherine didn’t answer.

Brian jerked Katherine back by her hair and growled low at her “I said is that true?"

“Yes!” Katherine shrieked as tears streamed down her face. Brian shoved her head forward almost knocking her off the couch with the force.

“Now was that so hard?” he asked before running a hand up her leg. “You’re going to do something for me and if you do I will leave and you will never hear from me again. But if you don’t I will come back here and you will be sorry. Is that understood?” he whispered against her before kissing her neck gently.

“What do you want?” she asked as she tried to pull away from him.

“I want you to break your little Ethan’s heart” he said pulling back to look at the shock in her eyes.

“How?” she asked not wanting to do it at all, but just wanted him to leave.

“Well I assume it works by you cheating on him or at least that’s what we will make him think” he said running a hand over her breast causing Katherine to smack it away. Brian quickly grabbed her by the throat and pinned her down on the couch.
