Chapter 7

Ethan stumbles backwards only to be caught by the wall behind him. He is unable to meet Katherine's eyes as he looks down at the floor. He wanted kids just not yet he had so much planned for him and Katherine. He runs a hand through his hair as Katherine approaches him nervously.

"Ethan..." she whispers as she reaches out to grab his hand but he pulls away quickly and starts walking towards the front door.

"Ethan!" Katherine shrieks as she follows him. She knew it was a shock but she didn't expect him to be this upset.

"I need some air Kat" he says as he thrusts the door open and then slams it shut.

Katherine stares in shock her face going from pale to flaming. She was angry but she was also upset. She couldn't believe after everything they had been through that this would be the one thing that would make him want to leave her.

Ethan jumps in his corvette and speeds out of the driveway trying to clear his head. 'How could she get pregnant after everything I have done for her' he thinks to himself. He was so torn he thought that Katherine did this on purpose. He thought that she purposely trapped him. He pulls into a parking spot at the local bar and gets out. He goes in and the bartender takes one look at him before laying down three shots.

People in town were not used to seeing Ethan around them especially getting drunk in a bar. Some girls were in the bar and they were already wasted so they didn't think twice about coming onto Ethan.

"Hey baby looks like you're having a rough night" one of the girls said to Ethan as she sits down on the barstool next to him. Ethan downs another shot before turning to the girl. He was already a little bit buzzed and was thinking unclearly.

Katherine watches the clock sitting in a chair in the living room praying quietly to herself that Ethan would come home safe. She falls asleep in the chair and is only awakened by Ethan stumbling through the front door. She gets up quickly and rushes over to him only to be almost knocked out by the strong stench of alcohol coming off him.

"Jesus Ethan have you been drinking?" she asks as she tries to help him pull off his coat.

"Yeah....so what" he slurs out as he almost falls on top of her.

"Are you crazy you could have killed yourself by driving like this" she growls at him as she motions for one of his guards to come help him.

"Oh what you scared I won't be around for you to mooch off of" he growls back at her.

Katherine stumbles backwards and raises a hand to her mouth shocked and hurt from the words that left his lips. She grabs her purse and car keys off the rack and heads for the door.

"Vanessa wait" he calls after her by the wrong name. She was so angry she didn't even have time to ask him who this Vanessa chick was and why he would refer her to this woman. It didn't matter because he obviously could care less about her.

She jumps into her car and peels out towards the gate as she can't help but notice Ethan running out the door but only to be stopped by some guards. He tries to fight them off but because he's so drunk he can't. She drives for a while before deciding to pull over at a hotel using what little bit of cash she had on her to get a room.

Katherine opens the door to the musty hotel room the door sounding like it hasn't been opened in years. She walks over to the bed and sits down before placing her head in her hands. She felt so stupid for trusting Ethan for believing he was a good person.
