                                            Chapter 10

The sound of a rapid heartbeat finally woke Kat from her slumber. She groaned and tried to sit up but Ethan quickly placed his hands on her shoulders.

“Easy Kat you need to stay still ok your Sternum is broken” He whispered stroking her cheek lovingly.

“What’s that noise?” She asked as she stared over at the monitor next to her to see a small heart in the corner reading 132 beats per minute.

“That’s our baby’s heartbeat.” Ethan said with a smile as he placed a gentle hand on her stomach.

Katherine wanted to relish in this moment she wanted Ethan to actually be acting normal in this moment and enjoy it but she couldn’t. He had hurt her too much to just accept him back into her life that fast. Plus she had feelings for Ryan and she was worried about him.

“Ryan oh god Ryan” She cried out trying to sit up again but Ethan held her in place. He couldn’t help but show hurt on his face as she cried out for him.

“What’s wrong what did he do to you?” He asked trying to keep her calm.

“He didn’t do anything to me” She spit at him angrily and shoved his hands off her.

“Ethan he’s in trouble men came in and they took him they were going to kill him they are the ones that hurt me please Ethan you have to help him” She pleaded with tear filled eyes.

“Why…why should I help that little prick? He took all my money and stole my girl and it’s probably a set up to make sure he gets away with my money” He growls at her causing her to flinch.

“For one I am not YOUR girl anymore and he took care of me after you through me to the wind and took everything from me. You didn’t care about me so stop acting like you do now” She growled at him before throwing the sheets off her and attempting to stand.

“Kat for Christ sake you’re going to hurt yourself just stay in the bed” He pleaded trying to keep her from standing.

“I have to help Ryan I owe him that much and you do to but since you would rather be an asshole well I’ll do it my damn self.” She stammered with a tear running down her cheek breaking Ethan’s heart in the process.

“Kat….I-“Ethan started but was interrupted by Katherine.

“Stop fucking calling me that you don’t deserve to call me that you piece of shit now get away from me” She cried out as more tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Kat…Katherine look please I know you hate me and I know sorry will never be good enough but please for our baby relax I don’t want to see anything happen to either of you” He pleaded trying to hold her but she shoved him away and laid back down.

“Fine if you don’t want to see us hurt then fucking find him. PLEASE!” She cried out at him with tear stained eyes.

“Alright alright I’ll put Nate on it immediately ok just stay in that damn bed PLEASE” he said sternly at her before turning and storming out of the room.

Ryan woke to a throbbing head ache that seemed to run through his whole body. His body felt like it had been run over by a semi and then put through a blender. He tried to reach up to touch his head but couldn’t. Something was binding his hands to something that he couldn’t quite make out with the blaring light shining down on him. That’s when he realized his head was tilted back. He slowly lifted it and cried out in pain as pain surged through him making his body jerk.

“WHAT THE FUCK WHERE AM I?” he cried out struggling with his bindings as much as he could trying to get free from the chair he could clearly see now.

He was in a dark room bound to a chair with a bright light hung directly over his head so he couldn’t see anything else in the room. The sound of metal scraping and a door being shoved open nearby got him on high alert as he held still.

“Who’s there?” He whispered feeling a little nervous in his current state.

“Remember me asshole?” Brian spits out at him with a wicked smile as he punches Ryan in the face making him spit blood out on the floor.

Ryan pulled at his bindings angry as hell that this piece of shit was standing before him and he couldn’t ring his neck like he wanted too.

“Stay the fuck away from Kat you sick fuck” He growled at him.

“That bitch will pay for leaving me and having another man’s baby” He growls moving closer to Ryan’s face.

“You touch her and ill-“He started but was interrupted.

“You’ll what kill me with your stone cold glare” Brain chuckled in Ryan’s face.

Ryan smiled and then head butted him as hard as he could making him a little dizzy but the blood pouring down Brains face was worth it.

“You fuck!” Brian screamed before punching Ryan a few times in the face.

Ryan spit more blood out and hung his head low too weak to hold it up. The door opened again and by the sound of the footsteps Ryan could tell there was more than one person entering the room.

“That’s enough Brian we need him alive” Chris said pulling Ryan’s head up by his hair.

“Fuck…you” Ryan spit blood directly in Chris face then smiled with blood lacing his teeth.

Chris stumbled back and wiped the blood off his face before pulling out a phone. He punched in a number and waited for the person on the other end to pick up.

“Get the bitch I want her dead-“He started but cries from Ryan interrupted him.

“WAIT WAIT PLEASE DON’T HURT HER ILL DO ANYTHING PLEASE!” he cried out fighting hard against his bindings now.

“On second thought don’t get her just yet” Chris whispers before hanging up the phone.

“You see Ryan we now have a dilemma before us it seems Ethan has turned his back on you and well why would we need to keep you alive when you have no money to even bargain with.” Chris says stepping back into view.

“I have all his money actually and I’ll give it all to you just let me go and don’t touch Katherine please” He whispers growing weaker now.

“You see Ryan we don’t really need the money I mean don’t get me wrong it’s a nice bonus but what we really want is his territory and you’re his right hand man you know more about him than anyone correct” He says leaning down looking at him.

“I won’t betray Ethan Chris I won’t” He says holding his head tall.

“Why would you protect him he has Katherine and you want her don’t you we can give you a small portion of the territory and you two can live happily ever after but first you have to help us take out Ethan or we could just kill you both” He says leaning back up holding out his phone to the other man in the room.

“You have two hours to decide and then after that Dom here will call Vince and she will be dead within a matter of minutes so choose wisely” He says before leaving the room with Brain.

I know its been awhile but I have been studying and blah blah blah. I know excuses suck and I know you have been waiting so I am giving you this new chapter hoping you wont give up on me just yet.
