A month later, one week until the big moving day.

I exhale shortly, glancing into the bag in my hands to look at the gift again.

A dark, flowery t-shirt dress.

My phone rings and I answer it quickly.

"Hello?" I say.

"Hey. Any luck yet?" Ellie asks though the phone.

"I'm almost to his flat."

"According to Ross, he's sure he's in there." She says.

"He better be. I'm worried sick and this dress was expensive so if he doesn't answer the door, I'll break it down myself."

"Remind me to never make you angry." Ellie says with a laugh.

"I'm just so worried about him. Any luck getting any information out of George?"

"We've got nothing. George is the master of having a poker face."

I hum.

"I'm approaching Matty's door now. I'll give you a ring later."

"Good luck!"

"Bye!"

I shove my phone into my pocket as I step up to Matty's front door.

I haven't seen him in forever, not since the night I invited him to dinner.

I take a deep breath as I knock on the door.

I feel a slight jolt of anxiety and excitement as the door unlocks.

The door opens and, "Oh, hello?" A short man with blue hair and thick framed glasses stares at me with slight confusion.

"Hi... Uh," I gulp.

"Is it the food?" I hear a voice call from inside.

Matty's voice.

"Matty," I let out softly.

"Matty," The man calls behind him, glancing back at me.

"Yeah, what's up?" The voice gets closer and as soon as Matty is in view, he stops and stares at me.

It feels like time stops for a moment.

Maybe it does.

My brain kicks in after a few seconds and I notice that his hair is blue. He doesn't look nearly as bad as he looked when I saw him last, and his hair is blue. His hair is blue.

He launches forward and pulls me into his arms, I drop the bag as I hug him back.

He smells like flowers. With a hint of something skunky but I won't ask him about that now.

I wrap my arms around him and bury my face into his neck.

"Matty, oh my god-" I breathe.

He backs me up for a second and places his hands on my cheeks, "Oh, look at you." he says before pulling me back in again.

"Matty, you're okay?" I ask, pulling back.

He smiles at me, looking a little bit guilty and says, "I'm okay."

Before I can ask where he's been, "Oh, just look at you." and he kisses both of my cheeks before saying, "I've got some explaining to do, I know."

I furrow my eyebrows, hitting him in the arm with very little force.

"Yes you absolutely do! I've been worried sick you know, since that night in front of my house-"

"Uh, should I, leave you two alone?"

We both turn towards the shorter man.

"Oh, Rome this is Sarah, Sarah this is Rome."

"It's nice to meet you," I hold my hand out and he shakes it gently.

"Nice to meet you, too. Matty talks about you a lot." he offers.

"Only good things, I swear." Matty says.

"Come in, come in, I'll put tea on." Matty says.

"Oh, this is for you," I say, a bit dazed as I lean down to grab the bag that I dropped.

"Thank you," he says, taking the bag. He looks up for a moment, "Chapter 69, haha."

"What?"

He looks at me, "Nothing."

With his free hand he grabs mine and leads me inside as Rome shuts the door.

I can't believe that Matty has blue hair.
