"What's taking so long?" Soojung asked as she sat beside Jaemin at the bar. Jaemin shrugged his shoulders.
The older Phoenixes were dealing with starting a deal with a new client, leaving the younger ones to work with this other one. Jaemin was already warned that they would be problematic but when they weren't back half and hour after the time they were supposed to be, he was getting a little worried.
"Probably got into a fight." Jaemin sighed, not excited to bandage more knuckles.
Suddenly, the door was aggressively thrown open, making them both hop off their seats to see what it was.
"Jaemin, help!" Renjun called out as he held the door for Mark, who was carrying someone on his back.
Zhilan.
The girl was leaving a big blood trail that came from her thigh as Mark set her on one of the tables, concerning the two medics.
"Jaemin you got this right? Because Jeno and Haechan are pretty bad too." Mark said as the other two were brought in, both covered in scrapes and bruises. Jaemin glanced at Soojung.
"I got the other two, don't worry." Soojung said, heading towards where Jeno and Haechan were seated. Jaemin nodded, turning back towards the girl who was holding Renjun's arm.
Knife wound, Jaemin thought as he helped Zhilan lie down, the girl surprisingly not pushing him away. Just by the looking at how deep the wound was, he could tell that she was in a lot of pain, yet not a word left her mouth.
Jaemin started with cutting her jeans open so he could get a good view of the wound. He heard small whimpers leave Renjun's mouth from how tightly the girl was gripping onto him, but still nothing from Zhilan herself.
"This is going to hurt." Jaemin said as he cleaned up the wound yet the scream came from Renjun's mouth not Zhilan's, making the others inside the bar begin to giggle.
Jaemin couldn't get distracted though, needing to work quickly to stitch up her wound. He stole a glance at Zhilan and saw that she was waving Renjun away.
"You sure?" Renjun whispered to her. She gave him a weak nod and Renjun walked over to help Soojung with the others.
Jaemin noticed Zhilan wincing every now and then, looking away from the wound. It was clear that she was in an extreme amount of pain but was doing her best not to show it.
Eventually Jaemin finished up, bandaging her wound for her. He stepped away, exhaling deeply as he stared at her bandage, making sure he had wrapped it properly. That's when Jaemin saw the sweat beading on Zhilan's forehead, the girl's eyes closed.
Did she pass out?
Jaemin decided to use to towel in his hands to wipe the sweat, but the second the towel made contact with her skin, her eyes opened.
Jaemin tried to stay calm as the girl stared into his eyes, focusing on her like he would for a patient.
"You need to stay off your leg for it to heal." Jaemin instructed. "Which means no more night walks."
"I'm fine." Zhilan said, pushing his arm away. She sat up slowly, biting her lip as she moved.
Jaemin let her get away when it came to smoking but when it came to injuries, he was strict. Very strict.
He stopped Zhilan from swinging off the table, trapping her between his arms.
"No, you're not. Your wound was deep, it's a bad injury, very bad. I don't care how high of a pain tolerance you have but you're staying in bed for the next few days, I don't care what you say." Jaemin insisted.
