As morning arrived, rani sat up from the rock and yawned. She looked outside and saw the golden sliver of sun.

"Kion, wake up." Rani half whisper-shouted.

"Hm? Oh, morning already? Alrighty, I'm up." Kion said with a yawn.

They walked outside to the guard waiting for them as usual.

"How is it you guys always beat us here in the morning?" Rani laughed.

Bunga shrugged, "maybe it's because we're faster than you."

Kion laughed, "I wouldn't be so sure about that bunga."

"Why not?" Bunga said.

Before Kion could answer the two hyenas came over to them.

"Greetings Anada, Una. How was your sleep? Was your place comfortable?" Nirmala asked them with a calm tone.

"Yeah, it was good." Una said.

"Mhm." Anada agreed.

Anada kept staring at Rani, and she grew uncomfortable.

"Well we were just about to start patrol." Rani said.

"Patrol?" Una asked.

"Well, we have to look after the Tree of Life, someone has to." Baliyo said.

"Ah, yes. You wouldn't want any bad guys coming in." Anada grunted. It sounded like he was holding back a laugh.

Una nudged him in the side really hard to shut him up.

"Well, we don't want to interrupt." Una said.

"It's fine. But we better start patrol soon, Kion." Beshte suggested.

"Good idea, Beshte. Later guys." KIon smiled.

"Bye." Anada said.

As they walked away Rani looked at Kion again. "Did you see that? I dont have a good feeling about this."

"It could've been nothing, I guess." Kion said.

"Yeah but they were staring at me, too." Rani said.

"Hm, okay. Hey Ono?" Kion called.

Ono, hearing his name, swooped down in front of kion. "Yes?"

"Can you watch over Anada and Una? We have a bad feeling about them." Kion asked.

"That makes three of us. Sure, Kion." Ono said before flying in the air and landing in a tree nearby the two hyenas.

Meanwhile, the guard started the patrol.

                                                                                 ...

As Ono watched, the two hyenas were mumbling about things and laughing.

"I cant hear them.. what do I do?" Ono thought.

He looked around and noticed a spot of tall grass he could fly in. But how could he distract them just for the second he did?

Fortunately, a leopard ran by at the time, and Ono took his chance.

He landed in the pile of grass silently and watched the two continue chatting.
