Chapter 7: The Female Titan

Y/n's POV

The expedition has begun

"There's a titan coming" Zacharius says.

"Ooh we should bring it back" Hange says.

"Or we should kill it" Zacharius says. The support squad rushes to deal with it in order to keep it away from the main squad.

"Do you think we can defeat the titans?" Eren asks.

"The whole point of this operation is to avoid titans as much as possible" Oluo says.

"EVERYONE GET INTO FORMATION!" Erwin yells. Me and Armin part ways from Jean and Reiner. Me and Armin continue by ourselves. I notice Armin being paranoid

"Armin relax. I've got your back" I say smiling at him. He nods but then we both see the first red signal flare from the far right of the formation. Armin shoots a red signal flare to alert the inner formation. We continue going along.

"I haven't seen a red flare in a while" Armin says

"We must be lu-" I begin but stop as I see a black signal flare.

That means an abnormal titan has appeared

Armin shoots a black signal flare. The abnormal makes its way to the right flank of the formation. Ness and Cis go over to the titan and kill it. They then come back over to us.

"Good job!" Armin says.

"Another titan 6 o'clock" I say.

"That's a 14- meter abnormal titan" Cis says.

"We have bad luck encountering 2 abnormals in a row" Ness says. As Ness and Cis prepare to do the same tactic the titan increases its speed and rushes past them. They both attempt to attack it but the titan deflects and then counters, by killing them both. Armin stares in horror as the titan rushes towards us.

"Eyes ahead" I say.

"We're gonna die" Armin says.

"We're not gonna die" I say

"This titan isn't an abnormal. It's showing signs of intelligence. This titan is like Eren" Armin says. My eyes widen. The titan then leaps over both of us and then stomps down in front of us. We're both thrown off our horses. Before either of us could get up the titan was right above us. She lifted up Armin's hood and then turned to me. She lifted my hood up and then she grabbed me.

"Y/N!" Armin yells as she has me in her hand. She begins running away from Armin. She's not holding me with enough force to kill me so I assume she wants me alive.

Armin's POV

The titan it took Y/n. Why didn't it kill me?

"Armin! What are you doing?" Reiner asks as he approaches me with an extra horse. I just look at him wide eyes that are filled with fear.

"And the female titan?!" Reiner asks. I go to shoot up a flare but Jean did it for me.

"Majority of the soldiers on the right wing are dead" Jean says.

The female titan came from that direction.

"Listen I know this sounds crazy but I think the female titan is human, just like Eren" I say. They look at me shocked.

"Why would you think that?" Jean asks

"Most titans are only interested in eating people, but the female titan deliberately killed Ness and Cis, it also kept me alive and took Y/n" I say.

"Took Y/n?!" Reiner asks

"The probability of Y/n being alive is pretty high" I say. Reiner sighs in relief.

"So what is the female titan doing then?" Jean asks

"Probably looking for Eren. I'm not sure why it took Y/n though" I say

"Well Eren's supposed to be in the right wing of the formation" Reiner says.

"My copy said that Eren would be somewhere else" Jean says.

"Where do you think he actually is?" Reiner asks.

"If I were to guess he would be in the rear of the formation since that's the safest place" I say.

"Flares aren't enough to relay the situation. We should stall the female titan and get Y/n back" Jean says.

"I'm surprised you would say something like that" Reiner says.

"It's what we have to do" Jean says.

"We should all put on our hoods. The female titan won't kill us without confirming our identities" I say

"You’re so smart, but it’s creepy how you always hang out with Eren" Jean says.

Is that a compliment?

We all catch up to the female titan.

"If we cut the titan's tendon it should be enough to stop it" Jean says

"Its impossible for us to kill it. The only ones that could probably kill it are Y/n, Mikasa and Levi." I say. Jean rushes forward using his ODM gear. The titan notices and evades his attack. I was knocked off my horse. The titan looks at me and Jean. Jean then attacks again to try and save me. The female Titan covers it nape with its hand. Jean then spins out of control. Right before it grabs Jean's ODM wire and kill him. I scream

"AVENGE THAT SUICIDAL MANIAC!" The titan freezes which gives Jean time to escape. I continue to distract the titan.

"THE TITAN KILLED HIM!" I yell. I then see Reiner rush towards the titan, his hood falls off. My eyes widen as I watch him go for the titan's nape. Reiner flies up to the titan's face but it quickly grabs him. We watch as Reiner struggles to escape. We then see the titan move its thumb over Reiner's head and squeezes. I then see blood splash everywhere. My face went white. But thankfully it was the titan's blood. We see Reiner escape but he goes to the titan's other hand and slices it.

"WAIT REINER YOU'RE GONNA KILL Y/N!" I scream. The titan's hand opens and Y/n falls. Reiner quickly catches her and flies over to us. We all then make our escape with Reiner carrying Y/n.

"I totally forgot about how good you were Reiner. Mikasa takes all the spot light" Jean says. We then watch the female titan run off.

Wait..that's where the rear...of the formation is..

We take a minute to rest. I look over to Y/n and my eyes widen.

"R-Reiner...?" I ask.

"Yeah?" He asks.

"Y/n's arm is missing" I say. Reiner's face turns white as he lays her down on the ground

"Eren is gonna kill us" Jean says.

"No Mikasa is gonna kill me" Reiner says. We all freak out.

"I can't believe I accidentally cut her arm off" Reiner says. I then notice steam.

"Why is there steam coming out of her wound?" I ask. Reiner turns and sweat drops.

"Is she like Eren...?" I ask. Reiner's facial expression is one I've never seen him do before. It is filled with absolute fear.
