33- ...Is Out

You ran so fast you didn't even stop to pause outside your house to answer the guard's questions, much less prepare for your father's. Bryce saw you on the security cams and raced around to catch up with you as you burst into your parent's room in the middle of the night. Your Mom jumped up and comforted you even though she couldn't make out anything you were trying to choke out through hysterical tears.

Dad: *shaking sense into you*
"You need to calm down. What happened? Is Avani and her family ok?"

You: "Vinnie- Ch- Ch- Oh God!!"

Mom: "Sweetheart, you're supposed to be sleeping over at Avani's, what happened?"

You: *still sobbing*
"I don't understand how this happened."

Bryce: "Where is Vinnie? You said Vinnie..."

You: "Chase has him!!"

Everyone sat up, suddenly wide awake as your father motioned for your mother:
"She must have had a nightmare. Put her to bed."

Mom: "Honey, Chase is gone."

You: *pushing her away*
"No!! I don't know how but he is alive and he has Vinnie!!"

Mom: "Sweetheart, you're very confused-"

You: "No I'm not! I saw him with my own eyes. Jaden found me and told me he had Vinnie and I went to find him and Chase was there."

Mom: "How is that even possible? You have to be mistaken."

Dad: "So you're telling me he's alive and working with the Hossler family?"

You: "No, Dad. HE IS A HOSSLER!"

Bryce: "Start from the beginning but tell me where my brother is, please."

You: "I don't know where hes being held. They showed me on a live feed and he's hurt but alive."

Dad: "Bryce, I need you to gather intel on Chase Huds- Hossler and find out how we missed that he is alive."

You: *pleading*
"Dad! I don't care about Chase right now! I need you to find Vinnie. I can't lose him too!!"

Dad: "Sweetheart, the Hosslers are getting dangerous and I have to find a weakness and Chase might just be it."

You: "What about finding Vinnie?"

Dad: "My priority is to protect you and your sister."

You became enraged because your father simply wasn't listening so your mother tried to lead you to your room.

You: "No! I am not going anywhere until I know Vinnie is OK even if I have to go back for him myself!!"

Dad: "Double the guards outside, Bryce. She doesn't leave this house. Got it?"

Your mom nudged you towards the doorway and you jerked your shoulder away from her touch and slammed the bedroom door in her face. You threw yourself across your bed and breakdown even harder in pure frustration. You didn't know how you'd get out but you swore you wouldn't rest until you figured it out. Your exhaustion betrayed you though as you drifted off to sleep.

Fast asleep, you were running through the woods at night in your dream.

You turned back searching for what was chasing after you and when you turned forward again you found yourself out of the woods. It was daytime and you were in a field. You quickly realized it was THE field. The one you from the memories of Chase you'd clung to where the dandelion flowers filled the landscape.

You searched for him where you'd talked to him in your last dream about him. The one you'd had back in the basement of the safe house with Vinnie. When you found THE dandelion on THE spot you spun around searching the horizon for any sign of Chase but it was so silent you couldn't even hear your own dream voice calling out for him.

You didn't hear the door creak open to your room because you were so deep in dreamland until suddenly you heard a voice ring out from the sky:
"Are you awake?"
