Percy's PoV

"Mr. Jackson!"

I am startled.
"Yes?"

"Give us an unforgivable spell."

I'm looking at the professor.
His magic eye moves frantically in all directions, which makes me think of the eye of the Grey Nuns.

Bad memory.

"Well, Mr. Jackson?"

I refocus on the course of defense against the forces of evil.

"Sorry but I don't know sir."

"So stop daydreaming and take the course. Who else?"

Several hands stand up.

"Yes, Mr. Weasley?"

"The Imperius spell?" Says Ron.

"Very good, sir. Dangerous one, it gave your father a hard time."

He goes to his office and catches a spider, which he points with his wand.

He whispers a formula and the spider grows to four times its basic size.

If Annabeth had seen that...

"The spell of the imperius, the total control of the other."

He points his wand at the bug again.
"Imperio!"

No change is visible.
He missed the spell?

Suddenly the spider starts spinning back and forth on the desk, then jumps from table to table.

It finally returns to the desk and the professor raises his wand.

"Another one?"

Neville, a boy with whom I enjoy talking - it has to be said that cauldrons that catch fire allow discussion to begin - raises a hesitant hand.

"Yes?"

"The Cruciatus spell?"

The professor lets out a sigh.
"Yes. The spell of torture."

He aims again at the spider with his wand.
"Crucio !"

The spider is twitching in all directions, taking spasms, and I'm sure that she could she would scream in pain.
Has a spell like this ever been cast on a human being before?

"STOP!"

Everyone is startled, and the professor breaks the spell.

"Can't you see that Neville is not well?"Exclaims Hermione.

We look at Neville, who is livid.

Moody clears his throat.
The spider flies away, responding to the professor's wand movements, and poses on Hermione's table.

"Miss Granger. Perhaps you know the last spell?"

Hermione shakes her head frantically.

"No ? I see. I see."

He points his wand at the poor beast again.

"Avada Kedavra!"

A flash of green light spurts out and hits the spider, which falls on its back, inert.

"The spell of death. Only one person is known to have survived it. And that person is here with us."

I see all heads turn to my cousin.

"Class is over for today."

"This is an outrage! He has no right to show us these spells!" Offended Hermione.
