Percy PoV:

I feel the power rising in me.
King Kong Eco+ swings his fist in my direction.

I dodge it easily, and propel myself over him.

"Too slow!"

I lower my sword, smiling like a demon.
I feel so good.

The two halves of the Gorilla fall with a bang, but the smoke immediately starts to reattach them.

How painful.
I can't kill him.

He gets up, without a scratch.

HOOOOOONK!

"Can't you shut up? You're making such a racket!"

HOOOOOOOOoo...-

"Now that's better."

A water bubble forms over his mouth, preventing any sound from coming out.

"Good. And now you're going to give me the pleasure of dying."

I run towards him, laughing with a mean, cold, cruel laugh.

I begin to cut him without giving him time to understand what is happening to him.
I strike with my sword, I dodge his attacks, then I reel with my sword again.

And I go on, endlessly, laughing like a madman.
Why am I laughing like this?
I know it's wrong, but I feel so good...

Has something changed in me?

Another place, another time...

"Be careful with your powers. I feel something... different coming out of it. Not necessarily positive."

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Oh nothing serious. You just threw your sword in my face and yelled I quote, "Go to Tartarus!""

That was during my drastic training.
I was skipping class to master my powers to the max.

Why am I reliving this moment?
I am aware that my body is still in the labyrinth facing the Gorilla.
Why am I thinking about this moment?

I was practicing how to surround my sword with water to manipulate it from a distance.

"Perseus, what is happening to you?"

Dumbledore was standing in front of me.

"What do you mean?"

"Your eyes. They're shining. And your expression. Is there something wrong?"

"I know there is. It's when I use my "latent powers" a lot. They glow silver, I can't help it."

"I know that. But I didn't know they could glow scarlet."

"What?"

I rush to the nearest mirror.
He was right. My eyes were glowing with a scarlet glow.

But that's not what scared me the most.

No.

What scared me the most was the expression I saw drawn on my face before it faded.

I had a chilling expression. Cruel, without warmth. It only lasted half a second. What's happening to me?

"You must be tired Perseus. After all, you've been training without breaks, so it must be exhausting."

"I... Probably..."

I didn't think it was due to fatigue.
I bowed to the director and took my leave, but he held me back.

"Perseus?"
