When Elise looked at them with tears burning her eyes, they had wanted to reach out to her.

They knew it was all an act but they couldn't help but feel her pain like fire burning your skin. A monster eating you whole. They couldn't help but see the true pain behind the act, how Elise was really reviving the memories she had before. She was hurt and she was scared.

Elise may look brave, may act like one, but at the end of the day, she was but a lonesome kid striving to stay alive in a crowd filled with something she doesn't know.

It's hard to find a weakness out of Elise. She was someone who looked like a person without any weaknesses. Elegance and manners were but a small thing for her. She didn't give a fuck to what others would say because the only one who could criticize her was herself. Her biggest enemy was herself.

She would even laugh at those things, agreeing that she really doesn't have any poise.

In some ways, that is what was admiring about her.

Elise was a strong person who was also an enigma to some. Especially to the Lazulis. Maybe it was her strong personality. Maybe it was the softness and gentleness behind her snark that pulled them towards her. Maybe it was just being Elise. The honesty she held and the familiarity she holds.

So desperately, like greed, they desperately wanted to reach out and cry along with her. To feel her pain, to help her, to take care of her, to wipe the tears off her face. They wanted to carry the burden of their little girl. Their youngest Lazuli. Their baby.

They couldn't be more sadder than this.

To see Elise being taken away while they stayed behind.

Seeing the surprised look on her face, without any pain, actually made them a little relaxed.

At least, she is safe, right?

Isobel cried while silently giving Elise a flying kiss, hoping that it would be accepted. Serafino wished it would as he hugged his wife comfortingly.

"My baby..." Isobel cried as she clung onto Serafino while she watched Elise disappear around the forest.

"I know, love." He whispered, sounding so hurt to let their young one go. Serafino was more anxious than the rest of them. They could smell it. It was probably because of the sleep walking incident. After that incident, Serafino had never been more closer than Elise. Worrying about her well-being and would be watching her like a hawk on a mission.

He couldn't help it. Elise was known for being reckless, for being stupid. Could you blame Serafino for worrying? Elise was their little girl. It was hard not to enjoy her company.

Kieran had this pained look on his face. He remembered the times where he would accompany Elise to her favorite tree. Always mothering her about this and that. Of course he would worry. Elise was reckless and stupid. If he weren't by her side then who knows what will happen to her by now?

That brat.

Seeing how far they have come, Kieran couldn't help but be thankful for Elise. Elise made them who they were today. Kieran would never be more thankful to her.

Meanwhile, Alice cried freely, tears sadly falling down his cheeks.

"Goodbye, flower..." Alice whispered despite knowing that everyone could hear him. He remembered how he had come to that nickname. Flower. Elise loved flowers, she would always be surrounded in petals whenever she was going home from the willow tree. She would always giggle whenever Alice would scold her for it.

But she would give him a flower crown. Always a crown.

"You were always a prince in my heart, Alice." She would always say this jokingly but there would always be love filling her eyes. she meant those words. It was always for Alice to hear.

Lucian hugged Marielle closer to him as he watched Elise go. He had this smile on his face.

Silently, he chuckled. "Dollface." That endearment sounded so foreign and yet so familiar that he couldn't help but let a tear fall. It pained his heart to feel this longing feeling. To feel this pain.

He kissed Marielle's forehead.

When Elise and Lucian first met, he had called her dollface. What did she call him in return? A pedophile. Elise was always a charmer. Bravery and stupidity was always on her side as she had called him that. An old pedo guy who was disgusting. Really, that girl could name millions of insults at his face without even trying.

He couldn't help but chuckle again.

She could really make a book with just insulting Lucian. Really. That's exactly like Elise, right? That idiot.

From afar, they watched as their baby left, taken away. They hoped that she will be okay.

Oh, Elise.

I'm sorry, Elise.

Goodbye, Elise.

I love you, Elise.
