In the novel, the wealthy CEO male lead has a villainous stepmother. She put up a front of being nice and tender to him, when in fact she was bullying the male lead with her son. After she had successfully driven the male lead and his father apart, her ambition continued to grow as she attempted to take away the inheritance from the male lead. In the second half of the book, the truth came out — that the father had no feelings for her whatsoever but was merely using the two of them to hone his son’s character. In the end, both the stepmom and her son were sent to jail by the male lead after he took over the family business.

Yan Shuyu transmigrated and became the well-hated villainous stepmother, but she had transmigrated to the time before everything happened, and the male lead was still a foolish child. Only a fool would want to become the stepmother of a foolish child. Yan Shuyu took a longing look at her “assigned husband”, who was pretty much like the Sleeping Beauty, before she quickly packed up and made a run for it.

Review:
Overall the novel is plain, I tried hard to keep reading until the end. This novel use a lot of description to describe events or characters mind, so for me who always skip descriptions, it feels boring. Then I jumped to MTL, it become harder to read.
MC transmigrated on the night she has one night stand with ML. She knew the plot and directly run away. She quit her job and search new job as waiter in a cafe. The owner is a 2nd rich generation young man which become MC best friend. The owner has sister who divorced so he pitied MC who's also single mother, he helped her a lot (typical kind 2nd male lead in friend zone). MC met ML again when she works at the cafe. ML become interested with her since MC keep trying to run away from him after MC initiate the 1 night stand with him.
Then a lot of ML pursue MC, MC since she knew the plot she tried to avoid ML but keep wishy-washy because she is attracted to ML since he is handsome, rich and gentleman. MC keep avoid but then she get closer to ML, I kinda hate this side of MC who say didn't or can't get close to ML but keep hang out with him.
In the end MC lives with ML. She move due to get closer to her place, then ML said he rent her a mansion for a year. at first she said she didn't want to live with him but because ML already paid then she'll live in it for a year. Turns out once she move in, she noticed ML also move in with her. Then MC who said want to pay ML or move out after a year, and won't marry ML since she didn't want to become ML son step mother which will lead the tragedy in the novel, she become more dependent to ML and accept everything ML give to her. I think I really don't like MC.
When ML propose MC, MC ask some time to think about it because she still afraid to marry ML. This is the first novel I read where MC didn't want to marry ML but still want to enjoy his wealth and intimate with him, imho she want to be a mistress. Anyway during the thinking period after ML propose, MC ex husband who was said died in accident, showed up at MC workplace. The ex husband said he actually was trafficked when he was young, his original family is a politician. They searched him everywhere but can't find him until his cousin saw him in passing. When his cousin confirm that the ex-husband is indeed the missing cousin, the ex-husband got into accident and in comma. His family tried to cure him and found out about MC. Because MC went to night club soon after ex-husband deem as dead, the family despise her so they didn't tell the truth. The ex husband was in comma and got amnesia, he remembered MC when he saw her playing piano on the internet.
ML become jealous and don't want the ex husband get close to MC son, but MC felt the ex husband deserve to be her son father. MC son recognize his father, then he was included in ex husband genology as the only son. I'm a bit confused about this, if the son record is in ex husband family, then later he is not included in MC or ML family record. ML actually didn't approve it and said MC son can follow him and he will revise the will and make the 2 sons as his own sons and will be equal. MC is moved but she said MC son should deserved his father legacy. She thought with his own father, her son won't be jealous of ML son. After that, MC marry ML, the end.
In my opinion for the whole novel, MC didn't trust anyone. Until the end she didn't trust ML or her son or ML son and keep believing that the novel plot will happen, that's why she didn't want to marry ML. ML actually really love her but I don't think MC love him. She just get used to his wealth due to ML scheme and lust with his handsome face. The weird think is at the end she spilled her transmigration to the ex husband, just because she want him to know she is not his ex wife, so he should stop his affection. Why she do this? Because ML is jealous and always think she'll go back to the ex husband, so MC want the ex husband to give up on her. Then the ex husband said he knew that she is transmigrated. It turns out she is actually the original who remember her past life (world where she read the novel), but at that time MC didn't know the plot. Then when she had one night stand, she had amnesia and thought she is someone else. I'm not sure about this part, she dream about the original who follow the novel plot, why she tried hard to make her son to compete ML inheritance instead of trying to have a child with ML is because there's voice commanding her?
Until the end ML didn't know anything and MC didn't tell him.
