”Huh?” She takes a deep breath.

“Do you still like me?” He asks directly and frankly.

Xu Qin is stunned, her heart is beating so quick like it will lose control soon.

She nods, “Yes.”

He looks at her for a long time and says: “I regret it, Xu Qin.”

She breathes: “Ah?”

”Let’s be together.” Song Yan says, “I don’t need you to do anything for me, I don’t need you to guarantee that you will be on my side in the future. If one day you want to break up, then let’s just break up. But for now, let’s be together.”

After ten years of searching, I’m still alone. It turns out I just want to be with you.

Review:
This novel make me keep crying, I guess I'll have panda and puffy eyes tmr. It is a cliche romance story but the flow and how author describe their feeling are really good. I could feel MC and ML feeling though toward the end I think ML is a little bit mary sue and MC seems become crying bag.
The story start from MC who just get back from abroad and she is working in emergency unit. ML and his friend are firefighters, they ask MC to look at ML since he have toothache due to training. MC ask them to wait for outpatient. ML friend got angry to MC but ML drag them out. Later it was revealed that MC date ML during her middle and high school. MC dump him and go abroad.
MC was from Meng family, her family was rich then her parent fight everyday. Her mom burnt the house, both MC parent died in fire. MC went to orphanage, other children knew she was a rich daughter, they bullied her. MC become more silent. Later she was adopted by her father's colleague. MC adopted mother(AM) is cold toward her. mc keep restrain herself because she was afraid they would return her to orphanage. She tried to make both adopted parent to like her. MC have a adopted older brother also a neighbor brother as her bestfriend. When MC in junior highschool, her AM asked her to change her surname and enter their household record because AM is afraid MC and her son will love each other. At that time they are close and indeed like each other. MC refuse because she want to keep his father family but her adopted older brother also ask her so she followed.
MC then met ML on high school or in 9 grade. ML began to pursue MC. MC get close to ML and began to date him. Until MC family forbid her, AM threaten her if she followed ML then she will lose her family and current wealth. MC choose to stay with her family and dump ML.
Now MC come back and keep bumping with ML. MC confused because she still want to get back with ML but she is afraid her family won't agree. It will keep repeated for sometime, ML did his job as firefighter, got injured, MC worried, ML left her cold. Until ML got heavy injuries and both realize they need each other.
MC decide she will stay with ML this time no matter what. Later she found out that ML entered military school for special forces but was framed leaking information. He was almost killed but he was saved and become firefighter. It was AM who did it, she didn't want MC to be together with ML also it was because ML mother. ML mother was MC adopted father lover. ML mother run away and marry wealthy family, she had another son which become MC blind date, later they become friend.
MC is furious when she knew AM framed ML and ruined his career. She broke her relationship with Meng family. MC adopted brother was sued, a college girl sue him for rape. ML sister have the evidence but she keep silence because she want to avenge ML. ML scold her and let her give the evidence (this part is a bit mary sue). The case is solved. MC adopted brother went as peacemaker soldier.
MC adopted brother actually love MC and he couldn't accept that MC want to throw away her family for ML. He have hope that MC should be with him if she could do that for him. ML scold him because he never knew about MC, MC got depressed due to her family, it was not ML who led her astray when they are in school but because MC want to be free. Only when MC is with ML she felt save and could be free.
ML friend and family also didn't know why ML love MC that much. ML lived with his father since his mother run away. His father was a drunkard and abused him. One day his father slip and hit his head and died. ML then live with his uncle family. He found his mother and saw her with other man. His mother glance him but did nothing. ML knew she recognized him. He felt there's no one who need him and feel useless. With MC he feels needed, he knew MC have severe inferior and want to protect her.
