xB felt a small smile come to his face as he looked at the picture. It was him and Hypno, both with smiles upon their lips, looking happier than xB had felt in a while. Ever since Hypno had left in Season Five, things just hadn't been the same with xB.
Mainly because he was deathly sick.
Not deathly just yet, no.
But soon-to-be.
Hanahaki. It wasn't a foreign concept to the Hermits. Caused by unrequited love. Cured in two ways: if the love did become requited, or if the victim took a potion that killed their emotions.
And what did it do?
Vomit.
You would vomit up blood, petals, and thorns.
xB would know.
He would know because he's crouched over a bucket right now, vomiting his blood mixed with dandelion petals.
And there's nothing he can do about it.
Because Hypno is gone.
There have been many things in Hypno's life that he's regretted.
Most were something small.
A screw-up in a project.
Dooming your lover was so much more than a screw-up.
Watching xB hurts his soul.
Trapped as a soundless spectator.
The violent coughs pierce him, hurting more than any sword ever has.
The blood feels like his own, making him dizzy and ill.
The dandelion petals sting like bees, a flower once loved, now wished dead.
xB was going to die.
And there's nothing he can do about it.
Because xB is universes away.
xB decides to leave Season Six.
A part of him wonders if, somehow, he'll stumble across Hypno.
He can only wish.
Want.
Hope.
Need.
Not all needs are fulfilled.
The former Hermit sometimes wonders if the potion is the best idea.
