Poem 2 {Come Home}

It's the first of October and still you have not come home,

There have been no smiles or sunshine

Instead its rain and thunder

I'm lost,

My body is frail and numb,

I'm that dead that I can't even cry,

It's as if I've lost my soul

You have not come home to me

I thought time heals

But they were wrong

I feel incapable of smiling or to even shed these tears,

Oh just to move on

I don't think I'll move on though,

I think this dark room is where I'll stay, where I belong

Until you come home

Until you come home and make a joke will I finally smile

Until you touch me will my heart beat

Until your gaze holds mine will I feel beautiful

Until you wrap your arms around me will I feel safe

Until you kiss me will I feel wanted,

Until you say you love me will I know,

Oh finally,

You've come home.
