Karla's pov; "Y'all better win that dance contest."I said.
"Oh we're gonna win."Jasmin said.
Ruby nodded. I was dropping them off since I had helped Jasmin get ready.
"Okay bye! Call me if anything happens or you need anything!"I said as they got out.
Ruby threw a thumbs up and I drove off. I decided to then go for some food. I stopped at a local taqueria and sat down as I waited for my food.
I heard the door chime meaning someone had come in. I didn't look up and my eyes stayed glued onto my phone screen.
I saw them walk over and sit next to me. I furrowed my eyebrows and finally looked up. Of course it was Oscar.
"Que quieres Oscar?"I asked.
"So we're really over?"he asked.
"Did you take Cesar back? Is he living with you right now?"I asked.
He stayed silent.
"I'll take that as a no. So that also answers your question. Yes we're over."
He chuckled.
"I don't believe that."he said.
"I don't believe it because you can't even look me in the eyes. Go ahead, tell me we're over and look me in the eyes."
I hesitated, he was right. I took a deep breath and looked him in the eyes. I opened my mouth but words failed to come out of it.
He cupped my face with his hand.
"I miss you."he said.
"Oscar please."
"You know I can't help him. You know that I don't make that call. You know that I love him cause he's my little brother, but I can't. He couldn't handle his business."he said.
That's when I heard them call my number. I got out of his trance and got up. I thanked the person, grabbed my food and left.
I got in my car, started it and left as fast as I could. I finally made it home and I went inside. My mom was already asleep so I ate.
What he said was replaying in my mind. An hour had gone by and I was still thinking about it. Until my phone rang making me snap back into reality.
