The morning tension in the air was thick.
Y/n spent the night with her older sister and her father stayed up all night worrying.
As Y/n walked into the kitchen she smelled toast.
Quietly, she took off a piece from the plate full of toast and ate it.
It's awkward in here.
She heard her father sigh.
"Good morning hon. Did you get any sleep?"
She looked towards her father.
"Umm, yeah. Did you?"
He didn't answer and poured coffee into his cup.
She took that as a no and grabbed her backpack that she left in the kitchen the day before.
She snagged a look at the time and choked on air.
"Oh my god, we'll be late—"
"You're not going today."
She paused at her father's stern words.
"I'm not letting you go out after that incident. Your brother already left."
"But—"
"Do you want to go to school?"
She of course shook her head no.
"It's not that, I just don't like having all the extra work to do when I go back."
"You'll be fine, remember when you took a week off last year?"
She nodded her head and put her backpack down.
I could have slept in more, how rude.

Ethan sat down at a lunch table with casual friends.
He didn't really speak much that day.
"No sister today? Is she sick?"
"Some creep was in our front yard yesterday, staring at her window."
"Oh. Well, holy shit did your dad contact the police?"
He nodded.
"Yeah, at like 6 am. They checked the area only finding the footprints and we gave them a tool we found on the ground. They'll get back to my father once they do the investigation on the fingerprints if there is any."
"That's fucked up, but not really surprising. I can't deny your sister is hot as hell."
