chapter 56

scarlet's pov: 

"scarlet eat something first and after that we will go " kristian said as he pushed more food in my plate , i felt my stomach churn as i tried to swallow my food  , Noah was looking at me with his sleepy eyes i smiled at him and kissed his head gently 

"i don't feel that hungry , and it's already 8 pm we need to get mateo some clean clothes and i want to see ben "  i said as i pushed my chair and called for Claire to help me help clean Noah up and get him ready for bed 

"mommy ?" Noah called as he hugged me from behind , i turned around and bent down to look into his eyes 

"what is it little darling ?" 

"mommy won't sleep with Noah tonight?"  i felt my heart break a bit as i gently ruffled his hair 

"i am sorry baby , but tonight i have to stay with uncle ben , Claire will stay with you okay ?and hen mommy comes back i will go to see you right away. " Noah nodded his head and kissed me on my cheek before he went with Claire to his room , i saw kristian stare at me as i walked towards the entrance to wear my jacket .

"please scarlet , Can't I convince you to stay here tonight and we will go first thing tomorrow morning , you look really pale my love , i don't want you too fall sick " kristian said as he tried to stop me form leaving the house , i looked at him with determination in my eyes 

"ben is my brother , and he is in that bed because of me , the least i can do is be there when he wakes up love i hope you can understand that.  "  after a second kristian nodded his head and held my hand as we walked out of the house together , the ride to the hospital took 20 minutes since the streets were full at this time of the day , i tightened the jacket around my body as i went inside the hospital  with kristian circling his hand around my waist, the smell of  antiseptics was worsening my nausea and i was starting to feel sick to the stomach , i took a deep breath in as we almost reached ben's room 

i saw mateo and Adam sitting there and talking with another guy that i didn't know , the guy was tall and huge in size , he had a big tattoo covering his neck and a small scar on his eyebrow making him a bit intimidating , the three guys were talking seriously and the mood was obviously not that good , the moment mateo saw us he stood up and signalled something that i didn't understand for the man , i took a glance at him and saw him eyeing me carefully 

"hey?? you're already back i thought you would rest a bit before you came ?" mateo said as he stood before us , i gave him a small smile as i handed him the clothes that i brought over for him 

"scarlet insisted on coming as soon as possible , so we took a shower and came back " kristian said with a sigh 

"scar are you okay ? you look pale. " i nodded my head with a small smile 

"Hmm ! is ben awake yet? can we go and see him ?" 

"he woke up a couple of minutes ago but he was to drowsy so he went back to sleep, the doctor changed him to a normal room so if you want you can go in but try to be quite "  i nodded my head eagerly as i ignored everyone and ran inside ben's room 

i took a deep breath as i saw ben laying on the bed with a couple of wires in his hands and the machines beeping above his head , i stared at him as tears welled up in my eyes , i stood beside his bed with a broken heart , i gently held his hand in mine trying to give him as much warmth as i can , tears slipped from my eyes as i  imagined the pain that he was in , i knelt beside his bed and closed my eyes as i hugged his hand  

" don't cry , i am not dead " a hoarse voice said making me snap at him , i looked at ben and saw him smiling at me as his other hand slowly reached my head and gently patted me , i felt the tears fall down harder as the relief washed over me , the fear that i had finally getting washed away as i cried like a baby in ben's hands
