chapter 16

scarlet's pov:

"Good morning baby " i smiled at Noah as he snuggled closer in my embrace as a cute little cub bear

"come on, let's get up and get ready for breakfast " i helped him off the bed , that i haven't slept on yet for tonight , its already seven o'clock and i haven't slept at all , so i decided to woke up Noah and go have breakfast that way i could at least take my mind of what happened the night before ... my mind drifted to the scene i witnessed yesterday after i left the office and i could feel my heart break slowly as i was reminded off the painful sobs that came from inside that dark place .

i felt something on my leg , bringing me back to reality out of my memories , i looked down to see Noah staring at me with his wide eyes as if he was asking me if i was okay! i smiled gently at the innocent soul in front of me

"i am okay baby , just thinking about work , come on go to your room and get a shower Claire must be waiting for you , i will take a shower too and see you in a couple of minutes , okay?" Noah nodded his hair and took off running outside off the room , i let out a sigh as i went to the bathroom to change into something more presentable and to take a fast shower so i can sober up a bit

"i need a coffee"

i took a shower and wore a simple jeans and a black shirt i lifted my hair in a ponytail and i kept my face bear of any makeup , as i was wearing my shoes , i heard a knock at my door so i answered without turning back thinking that it was probably Noah

"Come in "

"Hey..." i turned around startled

"Hey..." an awkward silence Filled the room as me and Kristian stared at each other

" I..."

" I..." both me and Kristian said at the same time

"Let me talk first " Kristian said as he walked towards me " Thank you , and i am sorry for talking to you that way yesterday , i have never talked about this kind of stuff with anyone , so it felt weird i guess "

"It's okay , it wasn't my place to open up this kind of subject , so i apologize ... "

"Don't be sorry , you haven't done anything wrong , it's just.... "i saw Kristian hesitate before he looked at me with determination in his eyes

"it's just that i need more time , but when the time comes , i may take you up to your offer , so i hope you don't mind waiting for me until i am ready" it took me sometime time to understand what he meant but after a couple of minutes i remembered our conversation yesterday

'So, at some point you have to let someone in, and if you like when that day comes and you feel like talking about it i wouldn't mind giving you an ear, i can be a good listener'

i nodded my head with a smile " i can wait " i saw Kristian show a small smile as he nodded his head and left the room right away , i stared at the door in astonishment

'He smiled ' i thought in my head this was the first time i saw him smile , God how many different sides does this man have

"Wow what just happened ??" i looked at the voice to see Mateo staring at me with a smirk on his face

" What do you mean ?"

"i just saw Kristian smile , Kristian knight just smiled , this is just.... WOW "

"Is it that weird ??"

"If you had asked me 6 years ago , i would have said no , but since that day...." i can tell how much sadness there was in Mateo's eyes as he looked at the door behind him

"Anyway , thank you! maybe you being here is good for someone else other than Noah , i wouldn't mind having you stay with us forever kitten " Mateo smirked making me blush as he left the room

'Stay forever ... that's not possible , at some point Noah wouldn't need me anymore , and i will need to leave ' i felt my mood go down as i thought of separating from these people , the people that i have known for only a week , but God did i get attached

i pulled myself out of my thoughts , getting myself together and walking out of the room so i can finally have a cup of coffee so i can get through this day

i walked down and the stairs and found everyone at the table waiting for me

"Good morning" i sat beside Noah who was staring at me

"You hungry baby? " Noah nodded his head really hard making everyone laugh at how cute he was acting , we started eating while having small talk every once in a while , at 9 sharp , Noah had to go for his classes which gave me the chance to actually take a nap , at 12 pm i woke up feeling a lot better , so i went and sat together with Noah , we played a couple of games and after that we went to visit my grandma , which was quiet fun , my Nanna was so happy when she played with Noah that she ended up nagging me about having a baby of my own , and she started using the sympathy card , where she talks about holding a great grandchild before she leaves this earth , so for two hours straight i had to hear my nanny nagging until ...

"Grandma..." i heard a soft voice whisper beside my Nanna's chair , i looked at Noah and saw him holding Nanna's hand while smiling softly , i don't know why but my first reaction was to open my phone and call Kristian , after a second of ringing , i heard him answer the phone , but i was to focused on what was happening in front of me that i even forgot that i called

"Yes darling " nanna said while she played with Noah's hair gently , in her eyes you could a lot of emotions swirling , she looked really happy

" Noah c---comes to play with G-grandma ,okay?" Noah stuttered while talking but what he said left me speechless , i can't believe he said a full sentence this is just amazing
