"I, I like you!" Sugawara yelled, turning his sparkling eyes to the ground. It was a beautiful summer evening and Sugawara had decided that it would be the perfect evening to confess to his long-time crush.

"Oh, Sugawara. I'm sorry, but I don't feel the same way. I hope we can still be friends, though."

With those words, Sugawara felt his heart split in half. But, being the respectful person he was, he just nodded and smiled, respecting the other's choice.

Sugawara took the long way home. Even though it was relatively cold outside, he took his jacket off, the heat of heartbreak warming him to the core.

Soon he came upon the sea. He was on a fenced ledge above the crashing waves, and he leaned on the fence, feeling the salty air blow through his hair. He took a deep breath in and let it out, feeling the cold night air burn his lungs.

Suga slumped against the fence, resting his head on his crossed arms. Since it was twilight, he failed to notice the way the fence had rotted at the joints.

After a second or two, Sugawara heard a loud 'crack!'. He felt his heart drop to his stomach as he fell forward, hurdling toward the sea. He let out a scream, hoping to let anyone around him know that he was there, and hurtling towards his untimely death.

While falling he had somehow managed to turn onto his back, and looked to the stars as he fell. He felt an odd sense if calm, but soon that calm turned to panic when he heard the waves getting closer.

As his back hit the water, he felt all the air leave his body. Too shocked to swim, he started to sink. Not having any air, he felt his hazel eyes start to close. He thought that this was it. This was then end of Sugawara Koushi. But, out of the corner of his eye he saw a tail, much larger than any fish he had ever seen. He must be hallucinating, right?

But, the sight was confirmed when he saw it again, this time right in front of his face. The silver-haired high schooler was soon met with the sight of a pair of chocolate eyes, staring right into his hazel ones.

"It would be a shame to let this one to go to waste." The creature said, voice deep and smooth. Sugawara was surprised by this, since he was sure humans couldn't breathe, or talk, underwater. Sugawara sure couldn't.

Through his rapidly closing eyes, he saw the creature sigh and lean forward, wrapping their arms around Suga's waist. As he did so, they leaned forward and captured Suga's lips in a kiss.

Suga suddenly felt like he could breathe again. It felt like he was breathing for the first time in years. He was soon able to open his eyes and saw the creature looking at him with a quizzical expression, looking like a confused puppy.

"What're you looking at?" Suga asked, immediately slapping his hand over his mouth. He shouldn't have been able to talk, so how could he?

"You of course. I made a good choice with you." The creature quipped, running their chocolate eyes over Suga's face.

"Whats that supposed to mean?" Suga asked, still trying to figure out if he was dreaming or not.

"Since I can only change one human this year, I had to make a good choice. You are my good choice."

"I swear if you did some-" Suga tried to back away feom the creature, but was soon stopped by the fact that he was, one, underwater, and two, didn't have legs to get away with.

Suga glanced down, seeing a long, silver fishtail where his legs should be.

"You sneaky son of a-" Suga started, but was soon caught off by the creature.

"Ah ah ah, you can't curse with so many ears around." The creature said, pushing Suga away so he was about arm's length away. The platinum blond used his arms to move backward, but was too slow to get of of the creatures grip. They wrapped their unnaturally muscular arms around Suga's waist again and said,

"Come on, I have to put in the initiation request for you." And that was when the creature started to pull Suga down into the depths of the sea. Suga didn't even struggle. He was still in shock, but sure that he wasn't dreaming. The cold ocean currents felt too real, and the fish swimming around them were too vibrant to be created by his imagination.

"Will I be able to say goodbye?" Sugawara asked, voice lifeless and cold.

"No, but you'll get used to it. We all do."

One shots two days in a row! Inconceivable.

I've had this idea in my notes for a while and it's so great to finally write it.

Have a nice day/night! [No takebacks]
