Sup everyone! So this is a one-shot based on a story called 'I was made for you' by DarkRiverQuinn. Thanks for letting me use this idea!

It was well past midnight on a school night. Daichi really shouldn't be up, but he couldn't help it. His thoughts were plagued with all sorts of terrible things.

You're failing half your classes, what makes you think you'll get into a good college?

I have all A's. Daichi thought, trying to combat his own thinking.

Don't you have homework you should be doing? Get up and do it, you lazy ass.

It's all finished.

You can't even get your thoughts under control, what makes you think you can control a volleyball team? Are you even fit for the role of the captain?

No matter how hard Daichi tried, the intrusive thoughts wouldn't go away. He pulled his knees to his chest and buried his face in them, trying to stop a stray tear from falling.

Right then, Daichi heard a small thump from across the room. His head shot up so fast it almost gave him whiplash. Daichi's eyes surveyed the room, trying to locate the source of the noise.

When he did, Daichi let out a sigh. He crawled out of his bed and crossed the room, bending down to pick up a small doll that had fallen off a shelf.

Daichi smiled down at the toy. He remembered one of his sisters 'gifted' it to him when she was cleaning out her room. She had gotten it on a trip overseas, most likely from her trip to Europe four years ago. When she gave it to him, she said that he needed something fun to brighten up the bland space he called his room.

The doll wasn't large, no more than ten inches tall, with plastic silver hair that was sticking out in every direction. The doll was wearing a pair of jeans and a grey sweater, which was most likely the most popular fashion when it was made. Though, what surprised Daichi the most was its face. Even though the doll was made from plastic, the face was so intricate it looked like it had been carved by hand. Each curve of the cheek and jut of the nose looked like it had been carved by a master.

The eyes were painted a light amber, similar to the color of caramel. Daichi wondered how the manufacturer had gotten the paint to look so shiny. It was almost as if the eyes were made of glass.

Daichi sighed, setting the doll back on the shelf. It now sat next to an old teddy bear of his, whom he had named strawberry.

The brunette trudged back to his bed and shut off the light, finally being able to escape the thoughts that sprinted through his mind.

Volleyball and classes had all passed by in a blur of tiredness. By the end of it, Daichi couldn't even remember what they were studying in his physics class, even though he had just walked out of the class.

Unfortunately, Daichi's mother had asked him to stop by the bakery to pick up a loaf of bread on his way home. Honestly, Daichi felt like he was going to collapse. But he couldn't disobey his mother, and if he did it meant certain death.

Daichi pushed open the door to the bakery, immediately letting the smell of fresh-baked pastries and coffee fill his lungs. He let out a long sigh and got into the line, pulling out the exact change he needed so that he could get out of there as quickly as possible.

As Daichi approached the register he bumped into something. Hoping that it wasn't a display, which he would have to pay for if it got broken, he instead saw a strangely familiar face.
