Happy Halloween! I know it's a bit early but I want to get this published. This one-shot is lightly based on those first couple of scenes in 'Hocus-Pocus'. It takes place during the Salem Witch Trials, so I'm sorry for any historical inaccuracies. Have fun with this garbage.
Note! There's a bit of character death, but nothing too serious.

"Daichi! Wake up!"
I groaned as I opened my eyes. My sister, Emily, always took the liberty of waking me up in the mornings and she woke me up faster than any rooster ever could.
"Ok, ok. I'm up, I'm up."
She gave a satisfied nod and ran out of my room. I slowly rolled out of my bed and yawned, scratching the back of my head lazily. I took a deep breath in through my nose and smelled the delightful smell of fresh sausages cooking. I smiled and quickly made my way into the main room of our house. My father was already seated at the table, looking over something small in his hand. My mother and sister were standing by the fireplace, tossing the sausages around in the pan. I smiled and went up to them. I pulled my mother into a hug. She seemed surprised by the gesture but soon hugged back.
"Morning, son. Breakfast will be ready shortly." She kissed my forehead and I walked to the table, taking a seat at my normal spot.
"Good morning, father," I said, trying to gain his attention. All he did was grunt and go back to examining the object in his hand. I sighed and laughed a little. I mean, why was I surprised? Once my father got really focused on something, it was almost impossible to get him to turn his attention elsewhere.
A few minutes passed and my mother announced that breakfast was ready. She served up the food and placed our plates in front of us with grace.
My father finally looked up from his hands and smiled contently at the food.
"Now, let's say grace."
(A/N For all the die-hard Christians out there, I'll do my best.)
"Dear lord who art in heaven, we thank you for this food. May you protect my children on this dreadful day. Amen."
"What do you mean by that?" My sister asked, already digging into her breakfast.
"Today is all-hallows eve. All the witches and spirits will be out." My sister shivered and went back to eating.
"So, Emily. For your safety, you are not to leave the house today."
"Awwww, fatherrrr." She groaned.
"No arguing. My decision is final."
"What about me?" I asked, finishing the last of my breakfast. He thought for a moment before saying,
"Well, you are seventeen. I'll allow it." I smiled and Emily groaned again. This time banging her forehead on the table.
"Thank you!" I yelled as I ran out of the house, ready to start the day.

"Asahi! Get over here!" I yelled, waving my hand up in the air.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." he trudged over to where I was standing.
"Did you find something?" He asked, looking at my hands. I opened them to reveal a small satin pouch I had found.
"Woah! Have you opened it yet?" He asked excitedly.
"No, but I'm going to. Ready? Three, two, one!"
On the last count, I ripped the small pouch open. I expected there to be money or at least something valuable, but instead, there was a small gold locket. I pulled it out of the bag and exclaimed it closely. The locket itself was heart-shaped with roses etched into the gold. I pried it open with my fingernails and peered inside. There was a small lock of silver hair and a lavender blossom.
