the third ward was a beautiful combination of historic meets modern. the converted mansions from centuries before, were now adorned with beautiful landscaping and posh interiors. all the owners had to pay a monthly fee and weren't allowed to drive anything that wasn't brand new or perfectly vintage- unless they were willing to hide it in the lot ten blocks over. the whole street contained people who jogged, who walked designer dogs, and of course, contained only the highest end stores and restaurants.

it was basically a paradise for anybody who felt a bit more unique than the standard ritzy strip where tae and jimin resided.

"this is fucking gorgeous!" jimin and yoongi had opted to drive separately, tailing behind bogum and tae who of course had pulled up in his overpriced sports car which he insisted on driving too fast.

yoongi found himself annoyed by that type of behavior, these types of people. he loved his energy-efficient prius and his shelter dog. he loved buying vintage band shirts on resale sites and wearing holes into every pair of pants he wore. it wasn't that he felt beyond the world that was presented in front of him; he just felt out of place sometimes which all of his friends never failed to remind him of.

"j-hope finally got his dream place!" the platinum blonde grinned remembering his conversation with his friend from many years past. j-hope had always been a dreamer, here he was living it.

"you guys drove so fast!" jimin yelled as tae climbed out from the passenger seat, his simple knit sweater contrasting the warmth of the night.

"well you're literally driving a car that has a zip tied bumper." tae joked.

"as long as it runs!" yoongi returned the banter, shaking hands with bogum who he remembered meeting briefly at the party for mark.

the four of them crept to the front door and up the stairs to the second floor where j-hope resided. it was clear by the bright orange door, adorned with white trim that the inside would be bright, just like his personality was.

yoongi, who had known j-hope the longest, refused to knock, instead pushing the door in to reveal an intimate gathering of the usual group, "hello everybody!"

the early arrivers stood, shaking hands and acknowledging everyone who had arrived. it was almost like they'd known each other for years when really, many had just met.

it was apparent to the group that tae was drawn to jungkook, a moth to a flame, they were hard wired to connect. and something about his moody demeanor and the way he threw back beer after beer made taehyung want to find out what darkness had crept into his world. but he was here with bogum.

sweet, sweet bogum who had grabbed him a glass of champagne as soon as they walked in the door. tae knew the two would talk later, maybe on the balcony, in the bathroom, a guest bedroom. he had plans for those sleeveless arms that were just displayed for all to see.

"shots!" j-hope walked in with a tray in hand, his body covered with nothing but athletic shorts and a jacket. it would look out of place in any other home but the neon light fixtures and misshaped furniture were as chaotic as him.

he was met with resistance from the group, groans and grimaces; his eyes darted to tae, "come on tae babe, don't leave me hanging!"

the brunette felt himself loosen up with just a glass of champagne; he was eager to see where more would lead him. so he didn't object, instead taking the rim of a shot glass into his mouth and sucking three back to back, cheers'ing to his new friend every single time.

he liked the way his head spun and his heart pounded. he liked the jealous looks that jungkook flashed each time he grabbed bogum's hand. he liked to feel wanted and oh did he ever.
