Levi

As he exited the slaver base Levi struggled with his temper. Finding proof that the slavers where in league with the neighbouring empire, finding that the was a passage from the study to what amounted to a prison had pushed his last nerve. Just the thought that his sweetheart could have ended up there had him contemplating the merits of 'accidental' deaths in custody for all the bastards involved.

"...am going to inform my father." Narrowing his eyes at the fading words of the bratty prince Levi quickens his steps headed towards the gate. Arriving he could see Rayne standing there looking off into the distance with a puzzled expression.

Who dares to steal his attention?

"Rayne?" Levie called as he strode out the gate.

"Oh, Levi. Hi, all finished. I didn't know that the young prince was so... enthusiastic."

What is he thinking about that idiot for?

"Yes, the final evidence collection will be handled by the specialist team so we can go back."

Levi carefully draped an arm around Rayne's shoulders expecting him to start and then narrowed his eyes at the complete lack of reaction. Is he still thinking about that bumbling prince? Leaning down Levi whispered in Rayne's ear

"Dev and Bri have switched back to being the pirates, I was told to say thanks for the strategy. So we best head back for you to see your father."

Finally, Rayne started nodding abruptly as a flush crept up the side of his neck. Levi carefully concealed his smirk as he led the way back to the carriage.

"Sir, I can take him home if you would like to go meet up with your fiancé." The solider that had been watching the gate strides over abruptly. Causing Levi to immediately frown as he turned back to look at the man.

"This is my fiancé, we where out on a private date before this mess." Levi returned as he urged Rayne into the carriage.

The solider abruptly straightened eyes widening in shock before saluting and turning back to guard the gate.

"Hmm, you know before someone becomes your affianced I believe the typical tradition is to at least ask first?"

"Does that mean if I ask particularly nicely that you'll agree?" Levi jumped on the implication. He was not about to let even implied consent to slip buy him.

Rayne smiled and laughed but paused before he said anything as his focus seemed to turn inwards and his expression shifted to one of disbelief before he abruptly lunged into Levi's arms and kissed him.

"If you can find me later then I'll consider your proposal." Rayne whispered as he leant slightly back and offered a disheartened smile.

"Find you? What do you..." before Levi could finish the sentence Rayne collapsed in his arms.
