chapter twenty eight.

It's time to choose happiness

Haechan's words were replaying in Renjun's mind and he took a deep breath before he decided to choose happiness. He looked up from his hands and stared at his soulmates.

"I need to talk to you two." Renjun announced.

Jeno and Jaemin couldn't help but feel hopeful as they looked at the determination in Renjun's eyes. They smiled and nodded in response. Renjun looked around the hallway to check if anyone was nearby, this wasn't something he wanted people to overhear.

"Can we go somewhere more... secluded?" Renjun muttered. Jeno and Jaemin chuckled at Renjun's small blush.

"How about my dorm? Jisung has dance practice until 7 so he won't be there." Jaemin suggested.

Renjun felt his stomach flutter and heat began to rise to his cheeks. "Your dorm?" Renjun wondered.

"Yeah, is that okay with you?" Jaemin asked with such a warm smile on his face. Renjun just nodded and followed them as they led him to Jaemin's dorm.

The dorms were nearby so the walk wasn't very long. They walked in comfortable silence and the closer they got to the building, the more nervous Renjun grew. Jeno and Jaemin were just anxious to hear what Renjun had to say. Jaemin hoped that Renjun was going to tell them that he was going to give them a chance and Jeno feared that he was going to officially reject them.

Jaemin unlocked the door and let his soulmates walk in first. Jaemin was ecstatic to have both of his soulmates visit his dorm, at the same time. He looked down at his wrist for a split second and smiled at words that allowed him find his soulmates.

Jeno took a seat on Jisung's bed and Jaemin offered Renjun a seat but he would rather stand. Once Jaemin took a seat on his own bed, Renjun took a deep breath and began.

"I have feelings for you. Both of you. I know that I said that I had no interest in being your soulmate or your missing piece but I only said that because I was scared. I'm allowed to be scared but my best friend helped me realize that... I was being an idiot." Renjun admitted.

"I'm not very good at... being happy. I have a lot of bad habits that I need to work on and I'm more than broken, but Haechan's right. He's always right. I have to choose happiness for once in my life and I-I-I want t-to be happy w-with y-you. Lee Jeno and Na Jaemin." Renjun finished.

Renjun was beyond embarrassed and he shut his eyes tightly as he hung his head down low. After a few seconds of silence, Renjun felt his heart breaking and silent whimpers began to escape past his lips. He tried forcing himself to be quiet but the pain was unbelievable.

Renjun felt himself be pulled into a tight hug and his silent whimpers turned into much louder cries. He didn't have to open his eyes to know who was hugging him, he knew that it was Jaemin. He hugged him back and cried into Jaemin's shoulder.

Jeno was glued to his spot and stared at the sight in disbelief. This wasn't what Jeno was expecting and he was beyond happy to hear Renjun say that he liked them. He was so happy to see Jaemin and Renjun hugging but something was biting away at him. He walked over to his soulmates and pulled both of them into a tight hug.

Renjun held on tightly and relished in the feeling of being held by the two people he was destined to spend the rest of his life with. Lee Jeno and Na Jaemin, his soulmates, who he had completely fallen for. They stayed in that position for what felt was seconds but in reality it had been 15 minutes.

"Take a seat." Jeno instructed Renjun.

Renjun obeyed and sat next to Jaemin on his bed. Jeno took a seat next to Renjun, leaving him stuck in between him and Jaemin.

Renjun nervously fiddled with his hands. Jeno saw this and quickly placed his hand on top of Renjun's fidgeting ones. This comforted him and he relaxed in his spot. Feeling left out, Jaemin decided to hold on to Renjun's hand as well.

"We will help you overcome whatever bad habits you may have. We just want you to be happy and we are delighted that you are choosing to give us a chance." Jeno smiled.

"It's not like we would have given up if you had said no. We would have kept chasing after you even if you had rejected us." Jaemin added.

Renjun chuckled and Jeno loved the sound of it. Jaemin pulled Renjun into another hug and Jeno loved the sight of both of his soulmates so close.

Jeno had many questions but he held back. He wondered what Renjun meant by bad habits and why he said he was more than broken. He wanted to know more about his past but Renjun had just accepted them, after two months. He was going to wait until Renjun was ready to tell them everything.

"What did Haechan whisper into your ear before he left?" Jaemin asked abruptly. There was the slightest bit of jealousy in Jaemin's tone and Renjun and Jeno couldn't help but smile at this.

"Oh, he told me to choose happiness." Renjun smiled.

"You should tell us about yourself. After two month, we still don't know much about each other and we are soulmates so we have to know everything." Jeno smiled as he wrapped an arm around Renjun.

Renjun smiled sheepishly and stayed quiet for a bit.

"I'll go first, if you'd like." Jaemin grinned. Renjun smiled and began his life story.

Renjun learned a lot about his soulmates in just a few hours. He learned how and when Jeno & Jaemin met. It was a cute story.

Around 6:30, Jeno and Jaemin accompanied Renjun to the bus stop. They had grown very comfortable with each other in such a short amount of time. It was hard to believe that a month ago, Renjun swore that he hated the two and wanted nothing to do with them.

They bid each other goodbye and on the bus ride home, Renjun couldn't think about anything but the tight feeling he felt in his chest when he thought of his soulmates. Jeno and Jaemin couldn't help but celebrate Renjun's confession.
