Y/n POV

I was stocking some cans in the isle listening to some Lauryn when a white little kid walked up to me.

"Yes? Can I help you?" I asked and looked down at the little girl.

"Why are you working at Walmart?"

"Because I need to make money?"

"Are you poor?"

"What..."

"I said are you poor??" The child said louder.

If this little bitch don't lower her tone...

"Umm is that a trick question?"

"Are you homeless?? Your hoodie is dirty"

Umm... where's your fucking mother. She needs to beat your ass.

My momma always taught me to mind my goddamn business.

"Uhhh that's paint"

"Why were you painting if you work here at Walmart?"

Why are you being a little preppy bitch?

"Because I had to repaint something because someone wrote a provocative statement in the bathroom"

"Those are big words"

"Yea..." I put my headphones back in and she starts walking away.

Thank Fuck.

After a while I worked my way to the kids toy section and started stocking the toys.

I felt a tap on my leg and it's a little girl.

I look around to see if her parents were around and I'm guessing she's lost.

I leaned down and held her hands.

"Hi"

"Hi" she said shyly.

"I'm y/n/n. Do you know where your mommy is?"

She shook her head and I nodded mine to show her I understood.

"Okay come here" I pick her up and put her on my shoulders.

I hope she doesn't shit in her diaper bruh.

"You see her?" I look up and she shakes her head.

"You know I'd like to know your name" I told her and she chuckled.

I like little kids. It's just the disrespectful ones that bms.

She starts tapping my head and singing twinkle twinkle twinkle little star.

I don't know who's kid this is. But she's adorable as fuck.

We keep walking to the closest intercom by the TV's and I grab the phone thingy.

I've never done this before...

"Uhh there's a lost little toddler in my possession. Female... brownskin, curly hair, really adorable. So uhh if you're the parent can you come get your child please?"

I put the phone thing down and after a while the little kid started pulling my hair trying to take me somewhere.

What the fuck does she think this is? Ratatouille?

I walk to where she was pulling me and she wanted a pop figure.

I guess I could pay the 8 dollars for it.

It was a Olaf figure and I grabbed it.

I walk over to the register and Jenny looks at me like I'm crazy.

"I'm just trying to keep this kid calm"

"What's her name?"

"I don't know bruh. Just take it" I gave her a 10 dollar bill and she scanned the pop.

She gave me the receipt and the rest of my money.

I pass the pop to the child and she takes it and giggled.

Damn my heart just melted.

I move her from my shoulders and sit her on top of the counter with Jenny.

"You're a cool little kid. I like your sneakers"

I tap her shoes and she smiles.

After a couple of minutes I heard a woman's voice.

"Omg thank god deydey" I turn around and it's fucking kehlani.

Ohhh Adeya. I'm so fucking stupid.

She walked up to the counter and grabbed Adeya and held her tightly.

"Don't do that ever again" she said into Adeyas neck.

She put her back down onto the counter and then looked at me.

Damn she's fine.

"Thank you" she walked up to me and gave me a hug.

"No problem" I pat her back and she laughs.

"You don't know how to get a hug"

"I don't usually like affection" I said and she looked at me like "wtf" and so did Jenny.

"Jenny suck my- never mind. You're lucky there's a child."

She rolled her eyes and that's when kehlani spoke out.

"Where did you get that?" She asked Adeya referring to the pop.

"Oh I payed for it. She wanted it so I got it. It's only 8 dollars so I didn't really care" I said and she shook her head

"Let me pay you back" she started taking off her bookbag and then tried to grab her wallet.

"No no. I'm fine"

"Take the fucking money" she takes her money out her wallet and hands it to me.

I hand it to Adeya and she starts playing with it.

"I- you know what..." Kehlani laughed out.

"Thank you though"

"Honestly it was no problem"
