two weeks later

"Get up!" Rosa calls out to Lolita who is still half asleep in her bed. "It's like you want to be later than Peralta." She said with a small smirk as she entered the room and pulled the duvet away from her best friend. Lola groaned and reached out to grab it back without opening her eyes but Rosa just pulled it further away. She opened her eyes and looked up in annoyance.

"We don't leave for another hour." Lolita sighed as she pulled her hoodie closer to her body.

"You take an hour and a half to get ready." Rosa says as Lolita sat up and started to look for her phone. Rosa, who knew what she was looking for, held out the smaller women's pink phone cased phone. "Get up." She said for a final time before leaving the room.

Lolita stood up and lazily made her way towards the bathroom. For the past two weeks, her brain had been somewhere else.

"How did you fall on your eye?" Diaz questioned in a blank tone. Lola jumped back slightly as she pulled her hand to her chest.

"I thought you were sleeping." She sighed. Rosa stepped forward and ran her finger over the bruise on her best friends face.

"She did that?" Rosa questioned as Lolita tried to look anywhere but at her. "Lola?"

Lolita stood in silence for a few seconds debating in her head on whether she should tell the truth. She'd been lying and making excuses for her marks and bruises for over a year now. If she lied again Rosa probably wouldn't believe her after all the things she told her earlier. She let out a sigh before looking up at her bestfriend. "What would happen if I said yes?" She said quietly.

Rosa didn't say anything, she just gave Lola the biggest hug she'd ever given anyone. Lolita wrapped her arms around Rosa's waist and they stayed stood there for a little while. Neither of them moved until Rosa felt a tear hit her shoulder. Her heart broke for her bestfriend. She planted small kisses on Lola's hair as she cried.

"I shouldn't have believed her." Lolita cried softly. "She didn't change. I want her to leave and never come back but I don't know how to tell her without getting hurt. I don't love her and I don't like her."

Lolita had chosen to completely ignore and avoid Alex until she knew what she was gonna do and when she was gonna do it. Ignoring and avoiding Alex, unfortunately, meant staying out of her own apartment so Lola had been staying with Rosa. She didn't mind as they spend most of their time with each other anyways. Lolita wanted to go home but Alex made herself a key so she could just show up anytime.
