SEASON TWO: THE ROAD TRIP

a/n:

i used a lot of dialogue from one day at a time. you'll see what i mean when you get there.

they announced Brooklyn Nine-Nine will not be renewed for a season 9 but i was writing the beach house chapter when i saw the Instagram post and thought i'd publish this chapter now instead of Saturday to hopefully make someone as upset as i am a little happier. it's stupid to be so upset about a show ending but this is what happens when i get too emotionally attached to a thing/ show or more specifically this is what happens when i get too emotionally attached/ just attached to certain characters (Rosa). i did the same with Glee (Santana, Quinn, and Brittany) and The Big Bang Theory (Penny). anyway, i'll stop rambling about my unhealthy obsession with tv shows. enjoy.

"I brought your jacket back!" Lolita called out happily as she entered Rosa's apartment. Rosa had texted her complaining about driving so Lola came to pick her up. "Rosa?!"

"I'm here." Rosa said before coughing as she came from the kitchen. She did not look well in the slightest. Her eyes looked tired, she was pale, and her nose was red.

"Hermosa, you are sick." Lola said as Rosa grabbed her bag and made her way to the door.

"Diazes do not get sick." She protests which makes Lolita laugh. "What? It's true."

"That's what you told me in 6th Grade when you came to school with the flu. Do you not remember what happened then? You gave it to everyone else."

"I am not sick. Let's just go." Rosa says as she takes the jacket from her bestfriend before pushing past her and out the front door.

"You're not going to work." Lolita said as she stayed put in the doorway so Rosa couldn't close the door. Rosa rolled her eyes and attempted to close the door but Lolita put her foot in the way.

"I'm not sick."

Of course on the way to work, they had to get stuck in traffic. Lolita sat in the car with Rosa coughing, sneezing and refusing to believe she was sick for an entire hour. Once they had arrived Lola had to drag Rosa out of the car because she didn't move when the car stopped.

"I have a perp in the interrogation room." Rosa stated as she and Lolita entered the briefing room. "I need all the files--"
