Riley's POV

I was just coming back from seeing my dad. I've been visiting him just about everyday now, it seems like he just keeps getting worse and worse. For the past week, I've visited, all he does is sleep. The doctor said it's just a matter of time, and that kills me. He's my best friend, I honestly don't know what I'm going to do without him. I push my thoughts aside as I pull into the drive way

I was suppose to meet Mia right after, but of course I forgot my phone. I get out and start walking towards the house, as I pass up a car, that looks quite similar to Erik's

Weird

Walking into the house all I hear is yelling, I walk into the living room to come across, my uncle and Jonathan arguing with Erik.

What the hell?

"What's going on here?" I ask crossing my arms

I watch as Patrick's eyes go wide

This ought to be good

"Riley! What are doing home, I thought you were going out?"

"I am, I forgot my phone though." I pause grabbing it off the counter

"Now the real question is what are you guys doing?" I ask raising my eyebrows

"Nothing we were just talking, ain't that right guys?" Patrick smiles nervously

"Really? Cause it's look as if your interrogating my boyfriend."

"We weren't. I mean.."

"Oh come on Riley, we all know you could do so much better." Patrick sighs

I was a little hurt, that my own uncle would go behind my back

"You know I expected this from that asshole." I pause pointing at Jonathan

"I have a name, you know that right." Jonathan scoffs

"Yeah well asshole really suits you right now." I snap

"But you, your my uncle. How could you?"

"Riley it's not like th-"

"Save it." I cut him off

"Come on Erik. Let's go."

I watch as Erik and stands up and make his way towards me

"You better not walk out that door with him." Patrick threatens

"Watch me." I snap turning around and walking out

"Who's car? Mine or yours?" Erik asks as we step outside

"Yours."

He just nods as we get in

"Where to?"

"Mia's."

He nods once more before driving off

I look out the window letting my mind drift away

Before I know we're pulling into Mia's complex and getting out. Walking into the townhouse, memories of Jonathan and I come to mind.

Ain't it funny how things can escalate so quickly, one day you can be best friends, then the next you no longer talk.

Life's fun ain't it?

We finally make it to Mia's door and I knock, a waiting for her to come.

Erik and I aren't suppose to be hanging with Mia, because apparently we're 'bad influences' at least that's what Jonathan says, but I know Mia could careless what her brother thinks, and I'm not going to let him run my life.
